Kane Williamson Appointed Captain Of Sunrisers Hyderabad
Kane Williamson, the New Zealand Captain, will lead Sunrisers Hyderabad in the upcoming season of Vivo Indian Premier League 2018, the franchise announced on Thursday(March 29). The decision comes after, David Warner ban from the 11th edition of IPL over recent ball-tampering controversy.
"I've accepted the role to stand in as captain for this season. It is an exciting opportunity with a talented group of players. I look forward to the challenge ahead," Williamson said.
David Warner, who led SRH to the Total Triumph in the previous season of IPL, has been banned by Cricket Australia along with skipper Steve Smith for one year from all cricket except grade level cricket. The duo allowed to play in IPL by CA but IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla, Hon.secretary Amitabh Chaudhary decided to bar the duo from participating in the 11th edition of IPL.
However both Devid Warner and Steve Smith have already stepped down captaincy from their respective teams.
Meanwhile Kane Williamson has a experience of captaincy as he is the captain of his National side, and also led SRH in few matches.
