Kangana Ranaut Determine To Release Uncut Version of 'Emergency' Amid Censor Delay
Mumbai, September 2 - Kangana Ranaut-fronted biographical drama film Emergency has been postponed. The movie, directed and headlined by Kangana, was supposed to hit the big screens on September 6 but a delay in the censor certificate has pushed it back by a week or two.
The film has been facing hurdles ever since the trailer was released. The makers are getting death threats for allegedly defaming the Sikh community. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) was expected to clear the film but has delayed the certificate as they are asking makers to cut some scenes.
However, despite all the challenges, Kangana remains determined to release the uncut version and seems in no mood to compromise the authenticity of the film. During a recent podcast interview, the actress said that she has made the film with a lot of pride and integrity and that's the reason she doesn't want to release the compromised version. The actress is also open to going to court if CBFC doesn't clear the film soon.

Produced by Manikarnika Films in association with Zee Studios, the movie is based on the true events of The Emergency in India, a 21-month period from 1975 to 1977 when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had a state of emergency across the country by citing internal and external threats to the country.
The film stars Ranaut as the former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi along with Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman, and Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles as the different political figures.
