Kangana Ranaut's 'Tejas' Sets Dussehra 2022 Release Date

Mumbai, December 7 - Finally, after a long wait, Kangana Ranaut-fronted "Tejas" gets the release date in theaters. The hotly-awaited film, written and directed by Sarvesh Mewara, will be released in theaters worldwide on the occasion of Dussehra, 5 October 2022.

Producer Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies shared the release date on Twitter on the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day. "Bringing to you the inspiring story of a woman who chose to rule the skies. An ode to the Indian Air Force, #Tejas releasing in a cinema near you on Dussehra, 5th October 2022".

The film showcases the story of a woman pilot in the Indian Air Force being played by Kangana Ranaut. The Indian Air Force was the first of the country's defense forces to induct women into combat roles in 2016. The film takes inspiration from this landmark event.

"Tejas is an exhilarating story where I have the privilege of playing an air force pilot. I am honored to be a part of a film that celebrates these brave men & women in uniform who make immense sacrifices in the line of duty every day. Our film celebrates the armed forces and their heroes. Excited to take this journey with Sarvesh and Ronnie", Kangana had said in a statement.

The shooting of the film kickstarted in December 2020, but the covid-19 pandemic halted the shoot on many occasions. The makers recently announced the complete shoot wrap and the movie is currently in the pre-production stage. The movie also stars Anshul Chauhan and Varun Mitra in key roles.
