LA Knight Tested Positive For COVID Before 9/22 WWE Smackdown

Glendale, September 22, 2023 - During tonight's episode of SmackDown, WWE had to make a significant adjustment when a planned segment was unexpectedly removed from the show. As previously reported by Fightful Select, the initial plan for SmackDown involved LA Knight coming to John Cena's aid during a contract signing segment in the main event, as Cena was set to be attacked by Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso.

However, the show unfolded differently as no one came to Cena's rescue. Solo and Jimmy had previously taken AJ Styles backstage, leaving Cena alone in the ring. Now, we have an update regarding the reason for this change.



According to Fightful, LA Knight tested positive for COVID just before WWE Smackdown and had to leave the arena. He was originally supposed to be part of the main event segment.

Naturally, this unexpected turn left the storyline hanging, and fans are eager to see how it will be resolved. With the original plan involving LA Knight scrapped, Cena ended up participating in a dark match after the televised show concluded. John Cena faced off against Montez Ford in a singles match.

Fightful has confirmed with WWE sources and those to him that LA Knight tested positive for COVID just before WWE Smackdown, and had to leave the building.
