John Cena has the most reigns with an impressive 13, and nine men in history have held the championship for a continuous reign of one year (365 days) or more.

The current champion, Roman Reigns, is in his fourth reign and has solidified himself as one of the most dominant champions in recent history. His most recent victory over Brock Lesnar in a Winner Takes All match to unify the WWE Championship and Universal Championship at WrestleMania 38 cemented his place as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, a title that remains active and highly coveted in the industry.
