List of Telugu and Tamil Films Releasing On Sankranthi/Pongal 2024 Festival

Hyderabad, December 23 - It is the time of the Sankranthi/Pongal festival which has always caught the attention of South Indian filmmakers and 2024 is going to be no different. In 2024, Tamil and Telugu filmmakers have already scheduled their movies for this lucrative festival.

The biggest release during the Sankranthi 2024 is Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu's much-awaited action drama film "Guntur Kaaram" on January 12. Directed by Trivikram Srinivas and produced by Haarika & Hassine Creations, the movie is currently in post-production.



There was Prabhas-fronted "Kalki 2898 AD" was also slated to release during the same frame, but now, it has been postponed, though the makers haven't made the official announcement regarding the postponement yet. The movie, however, is not releasing on Sankranthi as the shoot is still pending.

Among the Tamil movies, "Lal Salaam", which features superstar Rajinikanth in an extended cameo appearance, has been confirmed to release on Pongal 2024 festival. There is Dhanush's highly-awaited "Captain Miller" and Sivakarthikeyan's sci-fi adventure movie "Ayalaan" is also scheduled to release during the same frame.
