Makers Re-Confirm Release Date of SSMB28; Lead Antagonist Also Finalized

Hyderabad, February 13 - Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu is busy with the shooting of director Trivikram Srinivas' action entertainer, tentatively titled "SSMB 28". The shoot commenced last month after some delay but now going at a brisk pace.





"SSMB28" marks the third collaboration between Mahesh Babu and Trivikram after "Athadu" and "Khaleja", and it features Pooja Hegde as the female lead opposite Babu. The movie was originally announced for April 2023 release, but makers recently confirmed that it would be postponed to August 11 this year.





There were rumors that the release of "SSMB28" will be pushed further, however, producer Naga Vamsi has re-confirmed that there won't be a further delay and it will indeed be released as scheduled. Meanwhile, the makers have also locked the lead antagonist to lock horns with Mahesh Babu in the film.





According to the latest reports in Telugu media, Jagapathi Babu will play the main villain. Jagapathi Babu has been playing portray villainous roles in Telugu films of late, and "SSMB28" is going to be another biggie on the list.





Jagapathi Babu and Mahesh Babu have previously worked together in director Koratala Siva's "Srimanthudu", in which they played the roles of father and son, respectively. The upcoming movie also reportedly stars Sreeleela as the second female lead.
