Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan Part - 2' Release Date Revealed

Chennai, November 4 - Maverick filmmaker Mani Ratnam's period action drama film Ponniyin Selvan Part - 1 was released in September this year and broke many box office records. Based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel of the same name, "PS-1" got excellent reviews from Tamil audiences and currently is nearing 500 crores at the worldwide box office.

Ever since the first part of the epic film was released, the audiences have been eagerly waiting for part 2. As announced early, both parts of the film were shot simultaneously and the makers are now working on the post-production of PS-2.



Now, the makers have locked the 28 April 2023 release date for "PS-2". The official announcement regarding the release date was made on December 28. It will be a Pan India release and is expected to get much higher dividends as compared to the first part.

April 2023 could witness historic results for the Tamil film industry as superstar Rajinikanth's much-awaited action comedy "Jailer" is eyeing April 14, 2023, release on the occasion of Tamil New Year. It is a big occasion and the film is sure to get a huge advantage of it in Tamil Nadu state.

"Ponniyin Selvan" is produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions and stars an ensemble cast including Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Rahman, R. Parthiban, and Lal in key roles.
