Marvel Studios Locks Diwali 2021 Release Date For 'Eternals' In India

Mumbai, September 6, 2021: Marvel Studio is once again paving the way for a strong box office recovery worldwide amid the covid-19 pandemic. After "Black Widow", the latest Marvel release, "Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings" is doing strong business worldwide including India. On its opening weekend, "Shang-Chi" has earned approx Rs. 10.50 crore in India, becoming the first choice for cinemagoers.

Now, Marvel Studios announced the release date of its next superhero movie, Eternals. Directed by the Academy Award winner Chloé Zhao, Eternals will release in India on 5 November on the occasion of Diwali, in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.



The movie marks the first collaboration between the director and Marvel Studios. Zhao won Oscar for his last release, Nomadland. It is said to be Marvel's first attempt, which may lead this movie to compete in Oscars and other global awards. The movie is a part of Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Eternals boost with an impressive star cast led by Angelina Jolie as Thena, and Salma Hayek as Ajak ((making Marvel debut for both veteran actresses) along with Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Gil Birmingham, Harish Patel, and Kit Harington in prominent roles.

This superhero movie follows an unexpected tragedy following the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019) when the Eternals - an immortal alien race created by the Celestials who have secretly lived on Earth for over 7,000 years - reunite to protect humanity from their evil counterparts, the Deviants. It is produced by Kevin Feige, and Nate Moore and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
