Nag Ashwin To Direct Alia Bhatt Before Starting Prabhas-Fronted 'Kalki 2'

Mumbai, February 15 - The eagerly awaited Kalki Part 2 is set to be delayed as director Nag Ashwin is looking to start a different film before this Prabhas-fronted blockbuster. The producer has been busy saying the Kalki 2 would start in 2025 but the plans seem to have changed.

According to the report by Pinkvilla, the National Award-winning director is in advanced talks with Bollywood star Alia Bhatt to headline his next. The genre and other aspects are kept under wraps for now, but it is said that the subject is close to the director's heart and is set to make it with Gangubai Kathiawadi star.



Alia too has reportedly loved the world that Nag is looking to create and she is excited to collaborate with the maverick filmmaker. The dates of the actress are being sorted out as things are yet to be officially locked. Alia is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War and she wants to finish it before starting her next.

The report reveals that Nag Ashwin is looking to start this yet-untitled project in November and finish it in a certain timeline, as he also has Kalki 2 slated to commence in the second half of 2026. Both, the actress and the director are on the same page regarding collaborating for the first time and it's all about logistics to make things official.

Alia's next release is Yash Raj Films' spy action thriller, Alpha which is scheduled to be released on Christmas this year. Next up for the actress is Love & War, which is likely to be followed by Nag Ashwin's directorial. The National-Award-winning actress is also in talks with Maddock Films to headline its horror comedy, Chamunda.
