Nagarjuna Joins The Cast of Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Coolie'

Chennai, August 29 - Veteran Telugu star Nagarjuna Akkineni has officially confirmed on board superstar Rajinikanth's action drama Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The announcement was made on the occasion of the actor's 65th birthday, on August 29.

Nagarjuna will play the character named Simon as the makers unveiled his first-look poster. No other details have been revealed yet. Earlier yesterday, the makers introduced Soubin Shahir as Dayal. He was the first actor, other than Rajinikanth, to be officially confirmed on board the movie, followed by Nagarjuna.

Produced by Sun Pictures, Coolie marks the maiden collaboration between Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagaraja who last directed Thalapathy Vijay's Leo in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe. Coolie, however, will not be a part of the LCU and will be a standalone title.

The movie is currently on floors and it will be released in 2025.
