Netflix's 'Dahmer' Series Becomes Surprise Smash Hit Globally
Mumbai, October 6 - Netflix has a surprise smash hit in the form of Dahmer: Monster – The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. It has become one of the biggest Netflix series ever.
The American limited series, about serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, has scored 299.84 million hours viewed during its second week on the streamer. This makes it the second most-watched English series on Netflix in a week, behind Stranger Things 4.
The first 7 episodes of the fourth season of Stranger Things got 335 million hours viewed in its second week on the streamer and it was viewed by 301.28 million hours after the remaining two episodes dropped on July 1, 2022.
Meanwhile, "Dahmer" racked up 196.2 million viewing hours in its first 5-day weekend, and has become the ninth most-watched English series on Netflix after only 12 days with 496.05 million hours viewed. The series is believed to finish in the top 5 most watched English series of all time on Netflix.
The fifth season of "Lucifer" is currently the 5th most-watched series with 569.48 million viewing hours. "Dahmer" is likely to top "Bridgerton: Season 2" with 656.26 million viewed hours in its 28 days time on Netflix and become the second most-watched English series on the streamer.
The latest hit series stars Evan Peters as the notorious serial killer alongside Richard Jenkins, Molly Ringwald, Michael Learned, and Niecy Nash. It received mixed reviews, with some critics praising the acting and others deeming it exploitative.
