Paul Heyman Says Roman Reigns Was The Son Dusty Rhodes Always Wanted

Montreal, February 6, 2023 - The 2023 Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes is all set to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39.

To lighten up his huge match against Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes entered the February 6 edition of Monday Night Raw with a big reaction. After spelling out his strategy, he was interrupted by Paul Heyman and the crowd loudly sang along with his spiel.



Heyman congratulated Rhodes on his Rumble win. They shook hands. At the end of the promo, Heyman said that he couldn’t stress how much he loved Dusty or how much Dusty loved Cody. In their last conversation together, Dusty told Heyman that Cody was his favourite son, but Roman Reigns was the son he always wanted. Heyman dropped the mic as the crowd booed.

An angry Cody Rhodes got in Heyman's face. Cody forced a handshake to keep Heyman close. Cody said Heyman wouldn’t be the one to pay for it. Reigns would pay for it when Cody took the titles — personally.
