Prabhas' 'Kalki 2898 AD' Much-Awaited Trailer Date Revealed

Mumbai, May 30 - The countdown to Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has begun with under 30 days left for the much-anticipated release on June 27. As the anticipation builds, the makers gear up to launch the film trailer.

According to the latest Telugu media reports, the trailer of Kalki 2898 AD will be released online on June 7, three weeks before the release date. It is the most important asset of the movie which could shoot up the buzz to the next level leading to the release date.



As reported earlier, Kalki is the costliest Indian movie ever with a budget of approximately 600 crores and is reportedly a three-hour long. Given the complexity of the subject, which mixes mythology with sci-fi elements, the budget and runtime could be justified.

Kalki 2898 AD is directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies. It is set in a post-apocalyptic world, in the year 2898 AD. In the movie, Prabhas plays the character of Bhairava who intended to be a modern-day version of the Avatar of Lord Vishnu. He has been tasked to fight a fascist regime which holds control of most of the galaxy.

Kalki 2898 AD boasts a star-studded cast which also includes Amitabh Bachlan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani in prominent roles. The movie is scheduled to release on June 27 in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil.
