Prabhas' 'Salaar' Attracts Record Overseas Pre-Business Deal?

Hyderabad, April 2 - Superstar Prabhas' action drama Salaar with director Prashanth Neel is one of the most anticipated Indian films of the year. It is creating waves among the fans as well as trade who is hoping for record-breaking box office numbers.

The crazy combo of Prabhas and Prashanth Neel, whose KGF 2 with Yash was the highest-grossing Indian film of 2022, is making sure Salaar gets huge pre-release buzz which is already sky high. There is a massive demand for the theatrical rights of the film at the domestic as well as overseas box office.



Just like previous films, Hombale Films is likely to release Salaar on its own at the domestic box office but reports say that it has sold overseas theatrical rights for a record price. As per the trade rumours, the movie has been sold for approx. 90 crores in overseas markets, though confirmation from reliable trade sources is awaited.

The previous biggest overseas pre-release deal was locked for SS Rajamouli's mega movie RRR which was reportedly sold for approx. 78 crores. If the deal is locked on the said price, Salaar will be the number-one Indian movie as far as overseas business is concerned.

Produced by Hombale Films, Salaar is rumored to be releasing in two parts, with the first part hitting theaters worldwide on September 28, 2023, in multiple languages. The shoot for the same is currently in the final leg which will take place in Italy. It also stars Shruti Haasan, Jagapathy Babu, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Easwari Rao in key roles.
