Prabhas' 'Salaar' North America Theatrical Business Details Locked

Los Angeles, September 20 - The uncertainty over the release date of Prabhas-fronted hugely anticipated action drama film "Salaar Part 1 - Ceasefire" continues to loom large after being postponed from September 28.

Even though the release date of the movie is not confirmed yet, the buzz in the trade hasn't died down at all, be it domestically or overseas. Trade is super confident about the blockbuster combo of the superstar Prabhas and director Prashanth Neel ("KGF" franchise) to bring the audiences to theatres in large numbers.



As reported earlier, the pre-release theatrical business and non-theatrical rights of "Salaar" are being locked, and in this process, the makers have reportedly locked the theatrical business of the movie in North America.

According to reliable reports, "Salaar" rights have been sold at 36 crores in North America, which is an all-time second-highest for a Telugu movie, after SS Rajamouli's "RRR" (40 crores). "Salaar" will need to score $9+ million to achieve the break-even target. It will be distributed by Moksha Movies and Prathyangira Cinemas jointly in North America.

The last three films of Prabhas - "Adipurush", "Radhe Shyam" and "Saaho" combined grossed around $8.50 million, which is less than the break-even target of "Salaar". Considering the performances of the previous films, "Salaar" will need super positive talks to emerge as a clean hit.

Produced by Hombale Films, "Salaar" stars Prabhas as the titular character, along with Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Tinnu Anand, Easwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, and Ramachandra Raju in key roles.
