Predicting The Top 5 Future WWE Champions
Marieville, 24 September - Over the years, fans have seen many great world champions in WWE. Winning a championship in pro wrestling isn't easy; it takes courage to hold that World Title.
Names like Roman Reigns, The Rock, Randy Orton, Stone Cold, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, and The Undertaker have all held the WWE Championship. They achieved this with their skill and natural talent, inspiring the WWE Universe for more than a decade.
As 2023 comes to a close, we are still waiting to see who the new champions will be, those who will leave a lasting impact on the fans. Roman Reigns currently holds the WWE Championship and has been dominant with it.
In recent years, WWE has introduced a new generation of superstars with the potential to become world champions. LA Knight, Austin Theory, and Gunther are among these rising stars who may reach the pinnacle of WWE in the near future.
Let's have a look at top 5:
#1. LA Knight
A Knight is currently a top contender for the WWE Championship. Ever since his debut on the main roster in January 2022, he has garnered a lot of attention from both fans and fellow wrestlers.
Since his debut, Knight has climbed the ranks thanks to his natural talent and wrestling style. He's faced off against several top WWE stars, starting with a feud against Ricochet and later going on to wrestle the likes of Bray Wyatt and The Miz.
In simple terms, there's a significant chance that we could see Knight become the new WWE Champion in the future.
#2. Austin Theory
On the December 25 episode of NXT, Theory made his debut in the ring and immediately made an impression on the fans. His passion for wrestling was evident. As part of the 2021 Draft, Theory was moved to the Raw brand. After his debut on the main roster, Theory achieved a significant career milestone by defeating Finn Balor. He then went on to face and wrestle several top stars on the roster, including Cody Rhodes, Rey Mysterio, Bobby Lashley, and Seth Rollins.
Theory received a major push in his WWE career when he defeated Balor to win the United States Championship for the first time. This accomplishment made him the second youngest United States Champion in the title's history and the youngest champion under the WWE banner.
Recently, Theory found himself in a feud with "The Greatest Of All Time," The Rock. WWE rarely pits anyone against The Rock, so there is a significant possibility that we might see Theory win the title.
#3. Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes, despite being a prominent figure in WWE, has never captured the WWE Championship in his career. This has created a strong desire among fans to see him hold the gold. Since his return to WWE in 2022, Rhodes has not managed to secure a championship title.
In the past, he did hold several titles, including the WWE Intercontinental Championship twice, the WWE Tag Team Championship three times (once with Drew McIntyre and twice with Goldust), and the World Tag Team Championship three times (once with Hardcore Holly and twice with Ted DiBiase Jr.).
Winning the WWE Championship would be a significant achievement for Cody Rhodes and greatly enhance his career.
#4. Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens has achieved nearly every accolade in WWE, except for one - the WWE Championship. Owens is regarded as one of the top stars in WWE history, having secured titles such as the NXT Championship (1 time), WWE Universal Championship (1 time), WWE Intercontinental Championship (2 times), WWE United States Championship (3 times), WWE Raw Tag Team Championship (1 time, with Sami Zayn), and WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship (1 time, also with Sami Zayn).
#5. Sami Zayn
Sami Zayn, fueled by intense passion and aggression, garnered one of the loudest crowd reactions in WWE history during his feud with The Bloodline. Providing him with an opportunity to capture the WWE Title would be a significant benefit for the company.
Throughout his WWE career, Zayn has held the NXT Championship once, the WWE Intercontinental Championship three times, the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship once (with Kevin Owens), and the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship once (also with Kevin Owens).
