Red Notice Set To Become The Most Watched Film On Netflix
Mumbai, November 24 - The art-heist thriller "Red Notice" has turned into gold for streaming giant Netflix. Starring Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds in leading roles, "Red Notice" is on track to become the most-watched film on the streamer in its first 28 days of release.
Released on November 12 (Netflix), "Red Notice" broke into streamer's Top 10 Most Popular English Films of all time this past week, registering 277.9 million hours viewed. In just 11 days of release, it hit the 2nd spot on the Netflix chart and is about to surpass the current No. 1 holder, "Bird Box", which raked in 282 million hours viewed in its first 28 days.
Netflix released the new data, which ranks its most popular titles based on viewing hours, as part of its revamped and expanded Top 10 lists. Netflix says the metrics will be audited by EY, with results to be released in 2022.
In the first 3 days of release (12-14 Nov.), "Red Notice" raked in 148.7 million hours viewed and was the number 1 movie in the first three days. From November 15 to November 21, it dropped to the 2nd spot and gained 129.1 million hours viewed. During the same period, "The Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star" scored 24.77 million hours viewed and secured the top spot.
"Red Notice" is directed and written by Rawson Marshall Thurber. It's produced by Hiram Garcia, Dwayne Johnson, and Dany Garcia of Seven Bucks Prods., Beau Flynn's Flynn Picture Co., and Thurber's Bad Version.
