Riddle Reportedly Slated To Win The Men's Royal Rumble Match
PWInsider.com reported that The original plan for the Men's Rumble winner was Riddle, but Plans were changed over the course of the week a ton of times with the final decision to have Brock Lesnar enter and win as a surprise.
At one point, there was a pitch for Randy Orton to win as well, but Riddle was the frontrunner until the switch to Brock was made.
Additionally, Another report from WrestleVotes is stating that WWE had plans since the pairing began last spring for Riddle vs Randy Orton at SummerSlam, which didn’t happen actually. The original Plan was to hold off til Mania.
Only a handful of creative members want to spilt them, with the idea that if the match happens, it should be for the WWE title.
Instead, In the main event of Saturday’s show, Brock Lesnar won the men’s Rumble, a surprise entrant in the match after losing his WWE Championship earlier in the night.
Brock Lesnar is set to choose his WrestleMania opponent on tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw. Women’s Royal Rumble winner Ronda Rousey is also set to appear on the show.
