Roman Reigns Issues Statement On Testing Positive For COVID-19
Roman Reigns has been pulled off WWE Day 1 2022!
As reported by Ariel Helwani that Roman Reigns has tested positive for COVID-19 and he won’t be competing tonight at the WWE PPV, Day 1, in Atlanta.
Brock Lesnar, his scheduled opponent for tonight’s card, will now compete for the WWE Championship in what has turned into a fatal five-way with champ Big E, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, and Bobby Lashley.
Reigns took to Twitter and issued the following statement:
"I yearn to perform tonight at #WWEDay1 to defend my Universal Championship. However, unfortunately, earlier today I tested positive for COVID-19. Due to the proper protocols I am unable to compete as originally scheduled. I look forward to returning to action as soon as possible."
This is a concerning situation, because he is immunocompromised due to his history with leukemia. He had also been pulled off his WrestleMania 36 match against Goldberg.
