'Samrat Prithviraj' To Be The Biggest Ever Release of Akshay Kumar's Career

Mumbai, May 29 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is all geared up to headline Yash Raj Films production's magnum opus, Samrat Prithviraj. Scheduled to release on June 3rd, the movie will see Akshay playing the title role of the legendary Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan.

Directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the film is based on Prithviraj Raso, a Braj language epic poem about the life and valour of the fearless and mighty King Prithviraj Chauhan. YRF has opened the advance booking of the film and the studio is planning to make it the biggest release ever in Akshay's 30-year-long career.



Rohan Malhotra, Vice President, YRF Distribution says, "Samrat Prithviraj is a big-screen spectacle based on the life of the great warrior King Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan. The film has been conceived, devised, and shot in a manner that's best experienced on the biggest possible screen. YRF is leaving no stone unturned to make it the widest ever release for a Hindi film of superstar Akshay Kumar's 30-year career. Tickets will go on sale from today for Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions".

Akshay, who is promoting this film on a grand scale, hopes that parents across the country will take their kids to theaters to watch the movie, "Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan's life is truly inspirational. The values he stood for, the courage he wielded, the purity he had in his heart, and the love he had for his motherland, make him an exceptional human being. Produced by Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films, the movie stars Manushi Chhillar as King Prithviraj's beloved Sanyogita in her Bollywood debut. It also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Manav Vij, Ashutosh Rana, and Sakshi Tanwar as other important characters. Apart from Hindi, the movie will also release in Tamil and Telugu on June 3rd.
