Shahid Kapoor Unveils The First Official Poster Of His Special Film 'Jersey'

Mumbai, November 22 - It has been a long wait for the makers of the Hindi remake of the Nani-starrer Telugu movie, "Jersey", to release the film in theaters. And the wait finally seems coming to an end as this much-awaited sports drama is gearing up for the release on December 31st worldwide.

Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also helmed the original Telugu version, "Jersey" deals with late bloomers who want to aspire in sports, but face several complications. The storyline follows the lead character (Shahid), a talented but failed cricketer who decides to return to cricket in his mid-30s, driven by the desire to represent the Indian cricket team, and fulfill his son's wish for a jersey as a gift.



Shahid Kapoor, who stepped into the shoes of Nani in the Hindi remake, took to Twitter and shared the first official poster with trailer date announcement. "ITS TIME! We have waited to share this emotion with you for 2 years. This story is special. This team is special. This character is special. And the fact that we get to share it on the big screen with you all is special", he wrote in the caption.

The Hindi version is produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill, Dil Raju, and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under the banners of Geetha Arts, Dil Raju Productions, and Sithara Entertainments. It is Shahid Kapoor's first release since the mega-blockbuster "Kabir Singh". Balaji Telefilms and Pen Marudhar Entertainment have acquired the All India Theatrical release of the film.
