Shraddha Kapoor Roped In To Portray Ichhadhaari Nagin In Naagin Trilogy
Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor is all set to don the Nagin avatar for an upcoming trilogy to be helmed by the director Vishal Furia. Based on the popular TV series, Nagin - the three-films series, is being described as a love story, will be bankrolled by Nikhil Dwivedi.
Shraddha Kapoor who was last seen in Tiger Shroff-led Baaghi 3 earlier this year, has expressed her delight to part of the film series and said that she always wanted to a play similar kind of role which late actress Sridevi had played in movies like Nagina and Nigahen.
"It's an absolute delight for me to play a Naagin on screen. I have grown up watching, admiring, and idolising Sridevi ma'am's Nagina and Nigahen and always wanted to play a similar role rooted in Indian traditional folklore. It's like playing an iconic character, which has always been so fascinating for the audience", she said in a statement.

The makers are planning to mount the trilogy with VFX and special effects on a large scale. The last time Shraddha Kapoor played a character with supernatural powers was in Raj & DK's hit horror-comedy Stree (2018).
Director Vishal Furia is best known for his 2017 Marathi horror hit film Lapachhapi. He is currently helming Lapachhapi's Hindi remake titled Chhori starring Nushrat Bharucha in a prominent role.
Naagin is an Indian supernatural fantasy thriller television series produced by Ekta Kapoor and directed by Santram Varma, and Ranjan Kumar Singh. Currently, the fifth season of Nagin is airing on Colors TV. The lastest season stars Surbhi Chandna, Sharad Malhotra, and Mohit Sehgal as Bani Sharma, Veer Singhania, and Jay Mathur along with others.
