Sidharth Malhotra's 'Mission Majnu' Among 4 Others To Be Postponed Again?
Mumbai, May 2 - A handful of Bollywood movies are set to be postponed again to make way for big-ticket Hollywood tentpoles and also due to the delay in production. It need not say that the covid-19 pandemic has paused a big challenge for the Hindi movies.
While the Indian box office is coming to life thanks to the South Indian and Hollywood movies. Bollywood movies too have success in the form of "Sooryavanshi", "Gangubai Kathiawadi", and "The Kashmir Files", but it is not enough to bring back the industry to its strong feet again. The failure of mid-sized movies remains a big concern for makers and thus, they are now making sure they take the right steps regarding the release of their films and find suitable dates.
According to Pinkvilla, Sidharth Malhotra, and Rashmika Mandanna's espionage thriller, "Mission Manju" and the Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani, and Bhumi Pednekar-starrer "Govinda Naam Mera", which are scheduled to release on June 10, are set to be postponed for later dates. Interestingly, the Hollywood movie, Jurassic World Dominion is also scheduled for June 10 release and it is unlikely to be postponed.
The report also states that "Mission Majun" will now release between July and September this year while "Govinda Naam Mera" is targeting a year-end release. Apart from the aforementioned movies, Rani Mukerji's "Ms Chatterji V/s Norway", is also getting postponed from May 20th. Kangana Ranaut's "Dhaakad" and Kartik Aaryan's "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2" are already slated for May 20th release and are all set to proceed with that.
Another Sidharth Malhotra film, "Yodha", which is slated for a release on November 11, is reportedly getting postponed to 2023. The movie is currently in post-production work and is said to be making way for Marvel Studios' "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever", due on November 11. "Ek Villain Returns" is also reportedly getting ready to be postponed from July 8. "Thor: Love And Thunder" is also releasing on July 8.
