Steve Smith And David Warner Not Allowed To Play IPL-Rajeev Shukla
Steve Smith and David Warner Who were involved in the recent ball-tampering saga and banned by Cricket Australia, will also not allowed to play in IPL this year, BCCI confirmed through a media release, on Wednesday (March 28).
The decision was made by the Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators, in consultation with the BCCI acting President CK Khanna, IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla, and BCCI Acting Hon.Secretary Amitabh Chaudhary. This decision leaves a huge vacuum in both the Royals and Sunrisers camp, as both were main players for their respective teams. However, BCCI has allowed the Franchise to bring in replacement for the duo.
"The BCCI hopes that the cricketers participating in IPL hold the highest regard for the Spirit of Cricket and Code of Conduct for players and Match officials," the release read further.
Both the players have already stepped down Captaincy from their respective teams.
