Superstar Mohanlal's 'Barroz' Release Date Locked
Kochi, May 6 - Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's long-awaited fantasy film Barroz has announced Onam 2024 release. Directed and headlined by Mohanlal, the movie is based on the novel Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure by Jijo Punnoose.



On Monday (May 6), Mohanlal took to social media to announce that Barroz will be hitting worldwide theatres on September 12, 2024, on the occasion of the Onam festival. It will be the actor's next release since Malaikottai Vaaliban in January this year.





Produced by Aashirvad Cinemas, Barroz has been in the making since 2021. The movie was initially planned for a March 2023 release before it was postponed to Onam 2023. However, due to the delay in the post-production work, it was again postponed to March 2024, and now, the makers have announced a September 2024 release.





In the movie, Barroz, a treasure guardian (played by Mohanlal) has been protecting Vasco da Gama's hidden treasure for 400 years and has been entrusted to hand over the wealth only to a true descendant of da Gama. The movie also stars Maya, Cesar Lorente Raton, Kallirroi Tziafeta, Tuhin Menon, and Guru Somasundaram in key roles.
