Superstar Rajinikanth's Much Awaited 'Jailer' Gets A Release Date

Chennai, May 4 - Superstar Rajinikanth's much-awaited action comedy film Jailer, written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar has been confirmed to hit big screens in August this year, joining the packed Independence Day week.

The star-studded film led by Thalivaa will be released on August 10, 2023. Sun Pictures, the production house of the movie, took to Twitter to announce the release date along with a teaser that gives a blink-and-you-miss first look at the entire cast.



Rajinikanth, however, gets a kickass scene toward the end of the promo with a raging background score by sensational Anirudh Ravichander.

Produced by Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures, "Jailer" features some of the top names of Indian cinema. While Rajinikanth plays the titular role, the movie also stars Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Tamannaah, and Ramya Krishnan, among many others in prominent roles.

"Jailer" will be Rajinikanth's first film since "Annaatthe" (2021) which was also produced by Sun Pictures.
