Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Movie Shatters Pre-Sales Records

Los Angeles, September 2 - America's pop singing sensation Taylor Swift's Eras tour movie is shattering pre-sales records in North America. The upcoming Taylor Swift - The Eras Tour concert film set a single-day sales record for AMC in just three hours after the ticket presale went live on Thursday.

The movie raked in a total of $26 million in one day in the AMC theater chain, beating the previous single-day sales record held by "Spider-Man: No Way Home" at $16.9 million. According to Deadline, AMC-distributed concert film clocked $37M+ from the three big theater circuits — AMC, Regal and Cinemark in its first 24 hours of presales, which is higher than the Day 1 presales of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" at $20M.



According to ticketing website Fandango, the 3-hour long movie is the company's best first-day ticket seller of 2023 and also ranks in the Top 10 of all first-day ticket sellers in the its 23-year history, alongside box office giants like "Avengers: Endgame" and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".

"Not only is Taylor Swift's concert film the best first-day ticket seller of the year on Fandango, but the concert film is performing like the superhero she is and ranking among the best first-day ticket sellers of all time from franchises like Marvel, Star Wars, DC Comics and more", Jerramy Hainline, Fandango's senior vice president, said in a statement (according to The Verge).
