Taylor Swift's 'Midnights' Album Breaks Records
Los Angeles, October 31 - Taylor Swift's latest music album Midnights is on a record-breaking spree.
The pop superstar has achieved her 11th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with this album as it arrives with the biggest week for any album in nearly seven years, with 1.578 million equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Oct. 27.
According to Variety, Swift is now tied with Barbra Streisand as the female artist with the most No. 1 albums in the chart's history. She also becomes the only artist to have five albums debut with over 1 million units sold in their first week in U.S. Nielsen history.
Midnights scores the third-biggest streaming week ever for an album, by total on-demand official streams (549.26 million). It also captures the biggest streaming week for a non-R&B/hip-hop album and any album by a woman. The Nos. 1 and 2 biggest streaming weeks were logged by the debut frames of Drake's Scorpion (745.92 million) and Certified Lover Boy (743.67 million), respectively.
On Spotify, "Midnights" becomes the fastest album ever to hit 1 billion streams, reaching the milestone in just 10 days. The 13-track album, which was released on October 21, is already the year's top-selling album by overall sales. The pop superstar beats her own record for the largest sales week for an album since her own "Reputation" debuted in 2017.
