Teja Sajja-Fronted Superhero Film 'Hanuman' Scores Huge Pre-Release Business

Hyderabad, February 16 - Talented Telugu director, Prasanth Varma, won praises for his directorial "Zombie Reddy", last year. The movie, starring Teja Sajja in the lead role, was a box office hit and earned approx. 10 crores at the Indian box office.

The hit combo of Vaman and Teja Sajja later reunited for Telugu cinema's first-ever superhero movie, "HanuMan: The Origin", which was launched in June 2021. Produced by K Niranjan Reddy under his banner Prime Show Entertainment, "Hanuman" is touted to be a unique superhero film that will be released in multiple languages including Hindi.



Post the success of "Zombie Reddy", Varma and Sajja's second collaboration is getting a lot of hype in trade, which has resulted in its whopping pre-release business. According to industry insiders, "Hanuman" makers have sold the non-theatrical rights of the film in a huge Rs. 16 crores. Telugu satellite and digital rights have attracted a handsome Rs. 11 crores while Hindi dubbed rights sold for Rs. 5 crores.

"Hanuman" is currently in production and will be released this summer. Set in the fictional universe Anjanadri, the movie also stars Amritha Aiyer as the female lead alongside Satish Kumar and Raj Deepak Shetty in supporting roles. The script is written by Prasanth Varma, who called the superhero genre his favorite.
