Telugu Films 'Bimbisara' And 'Sita Ramam' To Finally End Tollywood's Dry Spell At The Box Office?
Hyderabad, August 5 - The Tollywood film industry has been struggling to get its first box office hit since Adivi Sesh's, Major, which was released on 3rd June. Since then, all the Telugu films have failed to get much attention in theaters, ending with a flop or disaster result at the box office.
The industry has now pinned its hope on Nandamuri Kalyan Ram's Bimbisara and Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, and Rashmika Mandanna's Sita Ramam, both have been released in theaters today (August 5). The good news is, that both the movies have had their premiere and unlike the previous films, both opened to very good word of mouth and positive reviews all around.
Bimbisara, which is directed by Mallidi Vashist, is being praised for a very good story, direction, music, and performance of the lead cast. Going by the reactions of people, Bimbisara has managed to click with the audience and this should result in very good footfalls as the day progresses. The fantasy action film also stars Catherine Tresa and Samyuktha Menon as the female leads along with others in key roles.
Meanwhile, director Hanu Raghavapudi's, Sita Ramam is another important film, and thankfully, it also seems to find a place in the hearts of the audiences. It is a period romantic film, produced by Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema. The movie is being hailed for raising the bar in Tollywood cinema with excellent direction and some fine performances. More importantly, director Raghavapudi has finally managed to get things right in the second half, which has been his problem in the past.
On the box office front, it is very important for the Tollywood film industry that both movies do well, and if the initial reports are anything to go by, the makers have winners in their hands. It is also to be noted that break-even targets are not that high for both the movies and with largely positive reception, both movies should be able to achieve their respective goals.
Stay tuned...
