Thalapathy 68: Venkat Prabhu Confirmed To Direct Thalapathy Vijay's Next

Chennai, May 21 - Amid the speculations, filmmaker Venkat Prabhu has officially been confirmed to direct Thalapathy Vijay's next, tentatively titled Thalapathy 68. The movie will be produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram's AGS Entertainment while Yuvan Shankar Raja is on board to compose the music.

"Thalapathy 68" marks the maidan collaboration between Thalapathy Vijay and director Venkat Prabhu, who recently directed Tamil-Telugu bilingual movie "Custody" starring Naga Chaitanya. AGS Entertainment, which previously produced Thalapathy Vijay's blockbuster "Bigil", is excited about the second collaboration.



"This will be AGS's biggest film so far. It'll be an entertainer that will be loved by all audiences. It will boast the best technicians of global standards", the studio wrote in a statement.

Meanwhile, "Thalapathy 68" will also mark the reunion of Vijay and Yuvan after 2003's "Pudhiya Geethai", which remains their only collaboration to date. The movie was officially announced today (May 21) with a cryptic video that indicates another Venkat Prabhu style of cinema.

Thalapathy Vijay is currently shooting for director Lokesh Kanagaraj's gangster drama "Leo" which is gearing up for October 19, 2023, released in multiple languages. He was last seen in "Varisu" which was released earlier this year and grossed close to 300 crores worldwide.
