Kamal Haasan Makes Six Demands To The Vijay-Led Tamil Nadu Government For Tamil Cinema

Chennai, May 16 - Veteran actor-politician Kamal Haasan has made six major demands to the newly formed Tamil Nadu government led by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, seeking stronger support for the Tamil film industry. The actor personally met Vijay in Chennai and submitted a formal letter outlining the requests on behalf of the cinema industry and film audiences. In the letter dated May 16, 2026, Kamal Haasan congratulated Vijay on becoming the Chief Minister and praised his leadership vision. He stated that Tamil cinema is facing several challenges and needs government intervention to protect theatres, producers, distributors, and audiences.
