The Tamil Remake of Malayalam Thriller, Drishyam 2 Is Not Happening?
Chennai, June 15, 2021: Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's "Drishyam 2" was a huge OTT success. The movie opened with highly positive reviews and easily one of the most viewed films of 2021 on Amazon Prime Video. Due to its widespread success, remakes in other languages have been announced.
While the Telugu remake of Drishyam 2, titled "Drushyam 2" starring Venkatesh has already been wrapped within 45 days, the Hindi remake has also been announced by Panorama Studios International, and will soon go on floors. Jeethu Joseph, who helmed the Malayalam version, has directed the Telugu version as well.
On the other hand, the Tamil remake as Papanasam 2 was also supposed to be announced with Kamal Haasan, who also starred in the first part. However, according to Only Kollywood, the director Jeethu Joseph has confirmed that there won't be a remake of Drishyam 2 in Tamil.
Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan is gearing up for the shoot of Lokesh Kanagaraj's directorial action thriller, Vikram. He also has Shankar's Indian 2, which is 50% completed. According to reports, Kamal Haasan wants to finish both films in quick succession.
