Hyderabad, January 7 - Telugu film producer Naga Vamsi came under heavy criticism from Bollywood filmmakers for his comment about Hindi films catering to Bandra and Juhu audiences. His remarks were seen as an insult to the Hindi film industry which has delivered many big blockbusters in recent times.

After enduring sharp criticism, the Daaku Maharaaj producer has clarified the issue and said in a recent interview with Telugu360 that he never intended to disrespect Bollywood or veteran filmmaker Boney Kapoor with whom he indulged in an argument during the recent roundtable interaction.

Naga Vamsi explained that his remarks stemmed from pride in the achievements of the South Indian film industry, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. Speaking further, the filmmaker said that leading Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar is his inspiration and also expressed his admiration for superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Deepika Padukone.
