Vidya Balan starrer Shakuntala Devi biopic release date finalized

The makers of the Vidya Balan starrer 'Shakuntala Devi' have finalized the release date of the movie. While the movie had already been decided to release on Amazon Prime Video, it is now will be premiered worldwide on July 31.

Vidya Balan took to her Twitter handle and shared the news of the release date sharing a video in which she can be seen doing some fun mathematical calculations before reaching on the number of the release date. She wrote, "Experience the story of an extraordinary mind! #ShakuntalaDeviOnPrime premieres July 31, on @PrimeVideoIN".

Shakuntala Devi is a biographical film based on the life of mathematician Shakuntala Devi, who was also known as the "human computer". Vidya Balan has portrayed the role of the math vizard.

The movie is directed by Anu Menon while it is co-produced by Vikram Malhotra's Abundantia Entertainment and Sony Pictures Networks India. The biopic is written by Anu Menon, Nayanika Mahtani, and Ishita Moitra.

Apart from Vidya Balan, the film also stars Sanya Malhotra as Shakuntala's daughter along with Jisshu Sengupta as Shakuntala's husband.
