Vijay's 'Jana Nayagan' Post-Theatrical OTT Dead Locked
Chennai, April 2 - The anticipation is building up for Thalapathy Vijay's political action thriller Jana Nayagan, which is potentially the swan song of the actor's acting career. The film is directed by H. Vinoth, marking his first collaboration with the Tamil superstar.
Jana Nayagan is scheduled to release on January 9, 2026, during the Pongal festivals, and there is a massive buzz among the trade for the obvious reasons. The movie, produced by KVN Productions, is currently under production, and according to the latest reports, the makers have locked the post-theatrical digital deal.
It has been revealed that Jana Nayagan's post-theatrical streaming rights have been bagged by Amazon Prime Video in all languages at a huge price of around 120 crores. Interestingly, the reports suggest that the film will have an 8-week theatrical window, which is unlike Tamil movies of the post-COVID era.
The movie will be released in multiple languages, including Hindi, and as per reports, it will have a proper theatrical release in the Hindi dub as the makers have reportedly agreed to keep an 8-week window, which is a must for a Hindi film.
Jana Nayagan stars Vijay, Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol in the lead roles, alongside Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, Priyamani, Mamitha Baiju, Jisshu Sengupta, Monisha Blessy and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar.
