Stamford, December 19 - WWE has recently submitted a trademark application, signaling the potential launch of a new show in the near future.

On December 17, the company filed to trademark "WWE Speed" for entertainment services with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The application suggests that WWE is looking to introduce a new program under the name "WWE Speed."

“Mark For: WWE SPEED™ trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, a show about professional wrestling; entertainment services, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing wrestling news and information through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information.”

In the lead-up to SmackDown last week, WWE recorded several matches as part of the "WWE Speed" concept, where each match was allotted a five-minute time frame. Notable outcomes included Bronson Reed securing a victory against NXT's Nathan Frazier, and Cedric Alexander emerging triumphant over Axiom.

Corey Graves and Kevin Patrick provided commentary for these matches, enhancing the viewing experience. A distinctive "WWE Speed" graphic and a countdown timer were incorporated for each bout, emphasizing the time-restricted nature of the contests. The diverse roster featured wrestlers from various WWE brands, a fact highlighted on the LED boards surrounding the ring.
