WWE Is Telling Talent That Vince McMahons Won't Be Back
In the wake of allegations against former CEO Vince McMahon, WWE has strived to maintain a positive public image, both internally and externally. However, recent developments highlight the ongoing legal and reputational challenges the company faces.
Following a lawsuit implicating McMahon in a sex trafficking and abuse scandal, he stepped down from all roles within TKO, including Executive Chairman and Board member. Worryingly, prosecutors in New York have reportedly launched an investigation, contacting women who previously accused McMahon.
This turmoil was evident during the WWE Royal Rumble post-event press conference. When questioned about the lawsuit, Triple H, facing criticism for his response, diverted attention to newsworthy events like the Netflix deal and the Rumble itself.
He emphasized focusing on the positive and admitted not having read the lawsuit. Notably, talent received prior instructions to avoid media discussions about the allegations, though Natalya and Nia Jax defied those directives.
Dave Meltzer, in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, reports that WWE is informing talent that McMahon won't be returning, directly addressing inquiries regarding the lawsuit.
