WWE Monday Night Raw, October 9, 2023: Live Coverage

World Champion Seth Rollins strides confidently to the ring, greeting the audience warmly. He acknowledges the powerful adrenaline rush from his recent Last Man Standing Match against Nakamura, recounting how he was pushed to his limits but ultimately emerged victorious. However, Seth confesses that the post-match adrenaline wore off quickly, reminding him of his nagging back injury. Nevertheless, he expresses deep gratitude for being the World champion and hints at a new chapter in his career.

Seth assures the crowd that he's just getting started and chuckles mischievously. He declares his willingness to be a fighting champion, ready to take on any challenger at any time. Playfully, he requests a break from the intense battles for just one Monday night, prompting some boos from the crowd. However, he lightens the mood by suggesting they can still enjoy some singing and dancing, perhaps even sharing a few drinks.

Suddenly, Drew McIntyre's entrance music blares through the arena, and he makes his way to the ring, exchanging waves with Seth before stepping inside.

Drew positions himself in front of Seth, who asks if Drew is here to join the party. Seth doesn't think so and assumes Drew is seeking a title match, to which Drew nods in agreement. Seth asserts that he'd love to have a night off but remains a fighting champion and is ready to oblige, even if he's not at his best. He contemplates going backstage to get it sorted when Drew intervenes, halting his departure.

Drew acknowledges that the party can continue but forewarns Seth that someone will eventually ambush him backstage or in the parking lot. He insists on addressing Seth face to face and proposes a title match at Crown Jewel when Seth is closer to 100 percent.

Seth appears surprised by Drew's approach and asks for input from the crowd regarding a title match against Drew at Crown Jewel. The audience responds positively, showing their support for the idea.

Seth extends the invitation for Drew to stay and party, even suggesting Drew's musical talents from his past in a band. He playfully asks Drew to sing along with him. Drew mentions having some backstage business to attend to but encourages people in Omaha to buy him a pint and a shot if they spot him.

Seth seizes the opportunity to engage the crowd in singing for him. Suddenly, Damian Priest ambushes Seth from behind, launching a flurry of punches and kicks. Priest finishes with a choke slam, standing tall over Seth.

Priest signals to the backstage area, and Dominik Mysterio brings out a referee and a briefcase. Drew intercepts Dom, and Dom clarifies that he's here to support Priest. Drew retaliates with a headbutt and tosses the case into the Tron. Seth fights back with punches and a clothesline, sending Priest over the top rope and to the floor.

Meanwhile, in the backstage area, Kofi Kingston receives a pep talk from Xavier Woods as he prepares for the Viking Rules Match. Simultaneously, Ivar prepares himself for the same match on his own.

Ivar starts strong with a kick to Kofi's head, but Kofi counters with a crossbody and punches. Ivar tumbles out of the ring after Kofi ducks, and Kofi follows with a plancha. Returning from a break, Kofi chokes Ivar with a flag and executes a side Russian leg sweep. Kofi's punch flurry is interrupted by a kick from Ivar. Kofi lands a kick from the apron, but Ivar counters with a spin kick. Ivar misses a charge, leading to Kofi's SOS for a near fall.

Valhalla enters with a crossbody, protecting Ivar. Xavier Woods appears, and the referee restrains him as Valhalla misses a strike and goes over the ringside barrier. Ivar responds with a crossbody against Woods.

Kofi tries Trouble in Paradise, but Ivar catches him and delivers a power slam through a table. Ivar finishes with a moonsault for the win.

After a break, Raquel fights back with elbows, but Nia counters with a side slam and an elbow drop. Nia applies a Cobra Clutch, but Raquel breaks free with elbow strikes and short-arm clotheslines. Raquel sends Nia into the ropes, delivers a boot, but her back gives out trying to lift Nia. Nia responds with a running body block and a Samoan drop. Nia sets up for the Bonzai drop, but Raquel rises and powerbombs Nia. The match ends in disqualification as Rhea Ripley enters and sends Raquel out of the ring.

WINNER: Raquel Rodriguez (by disqualification)

After the match, Rhea kicks Nia, prompting Raquel to attack Rhea, who counters with a headbutt.

Shayna Baszler enters the ring and focuses on Nia. Rhea and Shayna argue over who should face Nia.

Shayna delivers a German suplex and a running knee to Nia.

In the backstage area, Seth Rollins approaches Drew McIntyre, informing him of their official match at Crown Jewel. Seth questions Drew's actions, highlighting Drew's inaction during Seth's attack and his intervention when the Money in the Bank contract holder appeared.

Drew explains he acts when it directly concerns him, particularly regarding the title. He doesn't want a situation like what happened with the Bloodline on Smackdown.

Seth assures Drew that he needn't worry about facing THE Judgment Day because, as seen earlier, they couldn't take the title from him. Seth hints that Drew won't succeed either.

In the backstage area, the new Men's Tag Team Champions make their entrance.

Back from the break, Jackie interviews Shayna Baszler, who states she doesn't care about her opponent; she's the dominant force in the ring, and no one gets away with sneak attacks.

Shayna nearly bumps into Akira Tozawa, who wisely moves out of her way.

In the ring, Michael Cole introduces Jey Uso and then his tag team partner, Cody Rhodes.

Cody talks about bringing Jey Uso to WWE Raw and how the process went.

“Perhaps you don't want to take another crack at the WWE Championship because you failed the first time around." Michael Cole asks. Cole once again asks if he wants another title shot because he failed for the first time.

Cody says Fastlane was a moment and he did bring Jey back because of the talent that Jey has.

The music hits and it's Sami and Owens making their way to the ring. Sami has his old theme played on. They get into the ring, and challenge Cody and Jey for the titles. Cody takes the mic and accepts the challenge and the match is happening tonight on Raw.

Nakamura attacked Ricochet on the ramp when he was heading to the ring for his match. Nakamura prepares for Kinshasa, but the officials come and take them away.

However, Dominik intervenes out of nowhere, ducking Drew's attack and ramming him into the ring post. JD seizes the opportunity and executes a double knee move from the top rope.
