WWE Signs TV Deal With ABEMA in Japan: Raw & SmackDown Timing Revealed
Stamford, 28 September - A new television agreement has recently been sealed subsequent to WWE's partnership with Endeavor Group Holdings.
On September 12, 2023, WWE and UFC formally amalgamated to establish TKO Group Holdings, a novel publicly traded enterprise predominantly owned by Endeavor. In this new setup, Vince McMahon assumes the role of executive chairman, while Nick Khan assumes the presidency.
Indeed, there has been speculation about WWE exploring potential new agreements, and it now appears that one has been finalized. As initially reported by Tokyo Sports, WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown will be broadcast live on ABEMA in Japan. The completion of this deal is anticipated by October 3.
For fans concerned about scheduling, WWE Raw will be aired live on Tuesday nights at 8 p.m., with plans in place for WWE SmackDown to grace screens at 8 p.m. on Saturdays. It's a boon for fans that both shows will be available for free in Japan.
WWE Hall of Famer Keiji Muto, better known as Great Muta, is expected to serve as the ambassador for a special broadcast set to air on Friday.
