At the 2022 Royal Rumble, Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey shocked the WWE Universe by winning their respective Royal Rumble Matches, Bobby Lashley conquered Lesnar to capture the WWE Title in controversial fashion, Universal Champion Roman Reigns snapped and lost to Seth "Freakin" Rollins by disqualification, Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch survived Doudrop, and Edge & Beth Phoenix defeated The Miz & Maryse.
We are now officially on the road to WrestleMania. With WrestleMania around the corner, we have two top matches that are likely to take place at this event.
WWE SmackDown Women's Title: Charlotte Flair Vs. Ronda Rousey
I feel like we could be seeing Charlotte Flair defend her SmackDown Women's Title against Ronda Rousey at the event. This is one of the most anticipated matches in company history.
The word from within the WWE is that Rousey vs. Flair is the blue brand plan for WrestleMania 38. As noted, On January 29, 2022, at the Royal Rumble, Rousey returned to WWE as she entered as #28 in the Women's Royal Rumble match and won by last eliminating Charlotte Flair, earning a championship match at WrestleMania 38.
The WWE Universe burst when Ronda Rousey made her return to a WWE ring for the first time in nearly three years. Back in the days, it was reported that Charlotte Flair would be eliminated by somehow, leading a SmackDown Women's Championship showdown at WrestleMania.
Now, a new report has confirmed the news that Rousey will be a SmackDown Superstar for the most part, but she is scheduled for both shows, beginning with Monday’s RAW. It’s also been reported that she will face Flair at WrestleMania 38 and that her current contract is good for at least until WrestleMania 39.
Brock Lesnar Vs. Universal Champion Champion Roman Reigns
It is clear that Brock Lesnar will challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. At Royal Rumble Paul Heyman turned on Lesnar and he helped Reigns in his attack that led to Lesnar losing the WWE Championship to Bobby Lashley.
However, the frustration didn't get long as A furious Brock Lesnar shocked the WWE Universe as the No. 30 entrant, eliminating all remaining Superstars to win his second Royal Rumble and punch his ticket to WrestleMania.
As noted, Reigns was scheduled to defend his title against Lesnar at the Day 1 event on January 1, 2022, but the match was canceled as a result of Reigns testing positive for COVID-19.
