Yami Gautam Takes A Strong Stand Against A 'Disrespectful' Review

Mumbai, April 8 - Actress Yami Gautam has been on roll for the last few months with back-to-back movie releases. She most recently appeared in a social comedy-drama, "Dasvi", co-starring Abhishek Bachchan and Nimrat Kaur. The movie received mixed to positive responses from the critics and audiences alike, however, one of the reviews by a leading entertainment portal went wrong for the actress.

On Thursday, Yami scolded an entertainment website, called Film Companion for a 'respectful' review by a portals reviewer. The actress shared a screenshot of a review portion which noted "Yami Gautam is no longer the dead girlfriend in Hindi films, but the confrontational smile is getting redundant". This portion didn't go well with her and decided to take a strong stand against the portals.



"My recent films & performances include 'A Thursday', 'Bala', 'Uri' etc & yet this is qualified as a 'review' of my work! It's extremely disrespectful!", Yami wrote in another tweet. "It takes years of hard work for anyone & especially a self-made actor like me to keep proving our mettle again & again with every opportunity. This is what it comes down to from certain reputed portals!"

Concluding her saying, Yami asked Film Companion to not review her future performances as it will be less painful for her. "It's heartbreaking since I did look up to @FilmCompanion once upon a time, like many of us, but I don't seek that since long now! I would request you not to 'review' my performance henceforth! I'll find grace in that & it'll be less painful", she added.
