It is said that Phars Films will only be releasing the movie in Indian languages, including Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam, as the deal does not include an English version, which will be handled by the other studio. Ramayana India Distribution Rights Sold For 250 Crore or 350 Crore? Here Is What We Know

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, July 8 - Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana: Part 1 continues to dominate headlines even months ahead of its theatrical release. Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, the epic has easily been the most anticipated Indian movie in the making, not just among fans but also in the trade, for its enormous box-office potential. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) As the release date gets nearer, the film distribution race is heating up. Yesterday, Variety India reported that Karan Johar's Dharma Productions has acquired the all-India distribution rights to Ramayana Part 1 in a massive 250-crore deal. While the deal is huge, it started a conversation on social media about whether the rights were really sold for 250 crores, a significant but half of what the makers reportedly quoted, as earlier reports stated a staggering 500 crore demand. Now, according to the latest report by Bollywood Hungama, Dharma Productions has reportedly secured the theatrical distribution rights for 350 crore, making it the biggest distribution deal in Bollywood history. While the official announcement hasn't been made yet, the 350 crore deal looks more believable given the massive box office potential and the distribution demand of the makers. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Dharma Productions is reportedly preparing an extensive nationwide release strategy for the epic. The project, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and backed by Namit Malhotra, stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Ravie Dubey as Laxman, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman, among many others in prominent roles. Mounted on a massive budget and envisioned as a two-part cinematic saga, Ramayana is among the most anticipated Indian films in recent years. Produced by Prime Focus Studios and Monster Mind Creations, the first instalment is scheduled for a grand worldwide theatrical release during the 2026 Diwali festive season, while Ramayana Part 2 will release on Diwali 2027.

The face-off between the two highly anticipated films is already generating buzz across social media and trade circles. Produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic will release on Wednesday, which gives it a chance to maximise the long holiday period due to Raksha Bandhan, Varamahalakshmi, Onam, and Eid. It is being mounted on a grand scale and is expected to feature high-octane action along with an emotionally driven narrative. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Meanwhile, Eetha has also been gaining attention ever since its teaser surfaced online, after being attached to Cocktail 2 in theatres. Ramayana, Varanasi, or Others? Five Films That May Break Box Office Records of Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, June 2 - Bollywood star Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has set a benchmark that seemed unimaginable when the film was announced. The spy-action blockbuster shattered numerous domestic and worldwide box office records, emerging as one of the biggest Indian films of all time with over 1800 crores worldwide. Dhurandhar 2 is the highest-grossing Indian film worldwide (without China), and it took almost 10 years for a film to break Baahubali 2's record. However, with several mega-budget spectacles lined up over the next couple of years, it is believed that the reign of Dhurandhar 2 could eventually be challenged. Here are five films that have the potential to surpass Dhurandhar 2's historic box office achievements. 1. Ramayana Part 1 (Diwali 2026) (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) There is perhaps no Indian film carrying more anticipation than Ramayana Part 1. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and featuring an ensemble cast led by Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, the film aims to bring one of India's most revered epics to the big screen on an unprecedented scale. The story of Lord Ram has a universal appeal across generations and regions. Combined with cutting-edge visual effects and a massive production budget, Ramayana Part 1 has all the ingredients needed to become a global phenomenon. 2. Varanasi (April 2027) (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Among all upcoming films, Varanasi may be the biggest wildcard. Directed by S. S. Rajamouli and starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra, the film is reportedly being mounted on a scale rarely seen in Indian cinema. The Rajamouli factor alone makes Varanasi a serious contender. The filmmaker has consistently expanded the box office ceiling with films like Baahubali and RRR. Combined with the cast's worldwide appeal and an ambitious, globe-trotting adventure narrative rooted in Indian mythology, Varanasi is being positioned as a global cinematic event rather than a regular commercial release. 3. Raaka (TBA 2027) (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Among the newer contenders, sci-fi actioner Raaka has quickly established itself as one of the biggest upcoming projects. Directed by Atlee and headlined by Allu Arjun, the film is being mounted as a large-scale sci-fi action entertainer with futuristic world-building and extensive visual effects. The film benefits from a dream combination of Atlee's commercial filmmaking expertise and Allu Arjun's massive popularity following the success of the Pushpa franchise. Unlike most Indian blockbusters, Raaka is exploring the relatively untapped sci-fi genre, which gives it a fresh identity in the marketplace. 4. Ramayana Part 2 (Diwali 2027) If Ramayana Part 1 becomes a blockbuster as expected, the second part could operate on an entirely different level. Historically, successful films often witness massive growth with their follow-up instalments. The climactic portions of the Ramayana, including the battle between Lord Ram and Ravana, are among the most celebrated stories in Indian epic. This gives Ramayana Part 2 the potential to become one of the biggest cinematic events in Indian history and possibly surpass every existing box office benchmark. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) 5. Kalki Part 2 (TBA 2027/2028) Following the 1000+ crores success, the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD has been one of the most-awaited films with the first film leaving fans on the edge. With Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan set to return, with Sai Pallavi replacing Deepika Padukone, Kalki Part 2 could benefit from both franchise goodwill and heightened audience curiosity. If the sequel successfully expands the scale and emotional stakes, it has the potential to become a worldwide box office juggernaut. Can These Films Really Surpass Dhurandhar 2? Breaking the records of Dhurandhar 2 will not be easy. The film benefited from exceptional word-of-mouth, repeat viewership, strong overseas performance, and massive pan-India appeal. However, Ramayana Part 1, Ramayana Part 2, Kalki Part 2, Varanasi, and Raaka represent a new generation of event cinema designed specifically for the theatrical experience. Each of these films possesses the scale, star power, and anticipation required to generate historic numbers. If exucation is right, then sky is the limit for these titles at the box office.

Ranbir Kapoor, Yash's Ramayana Part 1 To Reportedly Release On October 30, 2026

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, May 23 - Producer Namit Malhotra is reportedly planning a major release strategy for the highly-awaited epic Ramayana: Part 1, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash. The makers are said to be contemplating preponing the film's release to maximise its box office potential during the festive season. According to the report by Bollywood Hungama, the Nitesh Tiwari-directed magnum opus is now eyeing an October 30, 2026, theatrical release, which is a week before the Diwali festivities. The strategy is said to be aimed at allowing the film to build strong word-of-mouth before the extended holiday period kicks in, potentially resulting in a massive second-week surge at the box office. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Initially planned for a Diwali 2026 release, the makers reportedly believe that arriving a week earlier could give the film a longer uninterrupted run during the festive season, given that no other major release will be released during this time. The report further states that internal discussions regarding the revised date are currently underway, and a final decision will be taken once the distribution negotiations are locked. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Yash as Ravana. The film also features Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Laxman, along with others. Mounted on a gigantic scale by Prime Focus Studios and Monster Mind Creations, the project is being positioned as one of the most ambitious Indian films ever made. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Recently, it was also reported that the makers are in talks for a massive theatrical distribution deal worth around 450 crore, highlighting the enormous expectations surrounding the film. Given the scale, visual ambition, and star cast, trade experts expect the film to emerge as one of the biggest box office events in Indian cinema history. The buzz around the film has been consistently growing ever since the first official glimpses and casting confirmations surfaced online. While the October 30 release date is yet to be officially announced by the makers, the latest developments indicate that the team is actively exploring the possibility of arriving earlier than originally planned to fully capitalise on the festive window.

Prashanth Neel Seemingly Confirms KGF: Chapter 3 and Salaar 2 Are No Longer In The Making

BY SACNILK

Hyderabad, May 20 - Director Prashanth Neel has sparked fresh speculation around the future of the blockbuster KGF and Salaar franchise after his latest comments during promotions for his next period action drama Dragon starring superstar Jr. NTR. In a recent interview with Baradwaj Rangan, Prashanth Neel stated that Dragon would be his final film in the hyper-stylised post-apocalyptic noir mass space - a genre template that heavily defines both the KGF films and Salaar. The statement has now led many fans to believe that Yash-fronted K.G.F: Chapter 3, as well as Prabhas' Salaar 2, may no longer be part of the filmmaker's plans. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The development comes as a major surprise, considering Neel and Yash had previously teased the continuation of the KGF universe multiple times after the historic success of K.G.F: Chapter 2. Earlier reports had even suggested that Chapter 3 would begin production after both Neel and Yash completed their existing commitments. Neel is currently occupied with Dragon, which has consumed a lot of his time, while Yash is focused on Toxic and Ramayana. With both the actor and director committed to multiple large-scale projects for the next few years, the possibility of KGF Chapter 3 happening anytime was already looking unlikely, and now, after Neel's comments, both the films have seemingly been scrapped.

Thalapathy Vijay's Jana Nayagan and Yash's Toxic Under Pressure With Lukewarm OTT Deals?

BY SACNILK

Chennai, May 9 - Two of the most-awaited South Indian films, Thalapathy Vijay's political action drama Jana Nayagan and Yash-fronted Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups have been in the news for various reasons, and this isn't helping their cause when it comes to locking post-theatrical digital deals. Jana Nayagan, directed by H. Vinoth, was supposed to be released in January this year, but the issues with the censor board delayed the film indefinitely. On top of that, the movie was leaked online recently, which has given a massive blow to the film's overall business prospects. While the election victory of Vijay in the Tamil Nadu election has filled the fans with enthusiasm and has created a positive atmosphere around the film's theatrical release, which is expected later this month, the same is not making much impact when it comes to OTT release. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The original OTT deal of Jana Nayagan was cancelled due to continuous delay, and now, OTT players are reluctant to secure the digital rights of the movie. Contrary to the original deal, which was reportedly acquired by Amazon Prime Video for 120 crores, the new OTT offer is said to be less than half of it. It is said that a major OTT player recently offered around 50 crores for post-theatrical digital rights of the movie, which is significantly lower than the original price. There is no clarity yet on whether the deal is locked or not. Some updates are expected in the next few days, with the theatrical release around the corner. Similarly, superstar Yash's Kannada and English bilingual film, Toxic, is also under extreme pressure due to continuous delay and reportedly fading interest among the digital platforms. The movie was scheduled to release on March 19, but was delayed to June 4 due to the war in the Gulf, since the film carries huge box office potential in this region. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) When it looked like it would finally be making its debut on June 4, the makers postponed it again to a later date. In a statement, the team revealed that due to the encouraging response at the CinemaCon event, the makers are now aiming for a much wider release in international territories, and to do that, they are in the process of locking a distribution partner for the same. The frequent delay in release plans is not only testing the patience of the fans, but also making a huge blow to digital prospects. As per unconfirmed reports, the OTT platforms are not willing to offer more than 100 crores for digital rights, which is much lower than the makers' expectations of at least 200 crores. This is also said to be one of the reasons behind the release postponement. Interestingly, both films are produced by KVN Productions, with Toxic co-produced by Yash's Monster Mind Creations. With time already running out, and the buzz is fading away, the studio is now in a difficult position to balance films' financial viability against market realities.

Kiara Advani Shuts Down Toxic Rumours: Here Is What The Issue Was

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, May 4 - Bollywood actress Kiara Advani recently found herself at the centre of viral speculation surrounding her upcoming film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. Reports began circulating that she was uncomfortable with certain bold and intimate scenes in the film, which features Yash in the lead role. The rumours further claimed that the actress had asked the makers to tone down or remove some of these sequences. In some versions of the story, it was even suggested that she had concerns after watching parts of the film and wanted changes before release. With the film already generating strong buzz, these claims quickly spread across social media. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Kiara Advani Reacts Putting an end to the speculation, Kiara Advani responded strongly and dismissed all such reports. The actress termed the claims "absolute nonsense," making it clear that there is no truth to the rumours. Her clarification confirms that she has not requested any cuts or modifications in the film and that the reports doing the rounds are entirely baseless. Despite the noise online, there is essentially no issue between the actress and the makers of Toxic. The entire situation appears to have been driven by unverified gossip that escalated without any official confirmation. Given the scale and anticipation surrounding Toxic, such rumours gained traction quickly, but Kiara's response has now brought clarity to the situation. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) What's Next For Toxic? Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film is one of the most awaited projects and stars Yash in a lead role. It is expected to explore darker themes and present a unique cinematic experience. The film was scheduled to release on June 4, but the makers have pushed the film further after feedback from the international media. With the rumours now firmly addressed, the focus is likely to shift back to the film’s progress and eventual release rather than off-screen speculation.

Yash's Toxic Release Date To Be Rescheduled; Makers Reveal Reason

BY SACNILK

Bengaluru, April 29 - Superstar Yash-fronted much-anticipated action drama Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has officially been postponed from its previously announced release date. The makers confirmed that the film will no longer arrive in theatres on June 4, opting instead for a later, globally aligned release window. The movie is directed by Geethu Mohandas and also stars Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria, among others in key roles. Film Complete, But Release Strategy Reworked In a heartfelt note shared by the team, it was revealed that Toxic is already complete. However, the decision to delay the release stems from a larger vision - ensuring the film reaches its full potential on a global scale. The statement highlights that after presenting the film at CinemaCon and witnessing an overwhelming international response, the team felt confident that the film deserved a wider and more impactful worldwide rollout. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Focus on Global Distribution & Partnerships The makers are currently working on aligning international distribution and strategic partnerships, which requires additional time. Instead of rushing the release, the team has chosen to recalibrate the timeline to ensure a synchronised global launch. This approach signals a growing trend in Indian cinema - films being positioned not just for domestic success but as global cinematic events. Yash, who is also involved as a producer, emphasised the importance of patience and responsibility during this phase. In the note, he expressed his commitment to delivering a film that stands as a proud moment for Indian cinema on the world stage. He acknowledged the unwavering support of fans and assured them that the delay is aimed at enhancing the overall impact of the film. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Not a Setback, But a Strategic Move This isn't the first time Toxic has been delayed. The movie was earlier scheduled for March 19 but was pushed to June due to external factors, like global uncertainties, that affected its schedule. However, the current postponement is purely strategic, with the goal of maximising reach, scale, and audience experience. While a new release date is yet to be announced, the makers have confirmed that Toxic will hit theatres soon across the world. Given the scale and ambition behind the project, expectations are now even higher for what could be one of the biggest Indian releases on the global stage.
