Ranveer Singh FWICE Dispute: Federation Withdraws Non-Cooperation Directive; Calls For Amicable Resolution

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has officially withdrawn its non-cooperation directive against actor Ranveer Singh. This decision was announced during a press conference held on June 3, 2026, marking a major step toward resolving the recent friction between the actor and the federation. As first reported by Bollywood Hungama, this move effectively rolls back the directive that had been in place since May 25, bringing much-needed relief to several ongoing and upcoming projects.

The decision to lift the directive follows an intervention by the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA). Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit, alongside President Birendra Nath Tiwari and General Secretary Ashok Dubey, confirmed that the directive was being withdrawn with immediate effect. The federation credited IMPPA President Abhay Sinha for his role in mediating the situation, stating that the step was taken in good faith to ensure that the larger interests of the film industry and its members are protected.

During the announcement, Ashoke Pandit emphasized the importance of maintaining a collaborative environment within the industry. He invited the actor to sit down with the federation and resolve the underlying issues together, noting that the film industry is like a family to everyone involved. The federation expressed its appreciation for the stardom the actor has achieved and shared a supportive stance, mentioning that they want to see him grow even further as a star rather than being caught in administrative disputes.

The backdrop of this withdrawal also includes a legal development, as the federation confirmed they had received a legal notice from Ranveer Singh regarding the non-cooperation directive. While the legal department is currently looking into a response for the notice, the leadership of FWICE clarified that their priority is to find a middle path that does not negatively impact producers, directors, or other technicians. The sentiment shared was that this resolution is not about victory or defeat for either side, but about finding a fair and mutually beneficial way forward.

By taking this step, the federation aims to prevent any further encumbrances on content production. The focus is now on reaching an amicable and constructive resolution through dialogue. With the directive no longer in effect, the industry expects a smoother transition back to normalcy for the projects associated with the actor. This move is being seen as a positive sign of maturity within the industry bodies, showing a willingness to prioritize professional harmony over prolonged conflicts.

Post Ranveer Singh's Don 3 and Akshaye Khanna's Drishyam 3 Exits, Producers Guild Issues Official Statement On Professional Accountability

BY CHRISTA LINCY

The Producers Guild of India has taken a firm stand against the growing trend of talent and technicians backing out of projects at the last minute. In a strongly worded official statement released on June 3, 2026, the Guild addressed instances of professionals reneging on their commitments just days before the start of principal photography. This move comes at a time when the industry is already buzzing with reports of high-profile exits from major franchise films, specifically involving Excel Entertainment and Panorama Studios. As first reported by Bollywood Hungama, these developments have caused significant disruptions in the planning and execution of some of the most anticipated upcoming projects. The Guild revealed that it has received formal complaints from its members, Excel Entertainment Private Limited and Panorama Studios International Limited. While the official statement did not name any individuals, the timing points toward recent industry headlines. Excel Entertainment, led by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, has reportedly been dealing with complications after Ranveer Singh's exit from Don 3. The project had built massive expectations as Ranveer was set to carry forward the legacy of the iconic character played by Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. His sudden departure at an advanced stage of preparation has reportedly created serious logistical and financial hurdles for the production house. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Similarly, Panorama Studios, headed by Kumar Mangat Pathak, faced a similar situation with Drishyam 3 following the exit of Akshaye Khanna. This particular development was a major point of contention in late 2025, with the producer expressing strong disapproval over the last-minute change. These instances served as the catalyst for the Guild to intervene, highlighting that such behavior is not just a breach of contract but a blow to the collaborative spirit of the filmmaking community. In its statement, the Guild emphasized that no industry member should engage in actions that result in substantial financial losses for producers and other sectors of the trade. It noted that these last-minute exits have serious and far-reaching consequences, undermining the trust and mutual respect upon which the film industry is built. Beyond the immediate financial impact on producers, the statement expressed concern for the livelihoods of hundreds of technicians and crew members who depend on these films for their income. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The statement further explained that such actions cause significant reputational damage and adversely impact the brand value and credibility of the films involved. While the Guild clarified that it supports a free and fair business environment, it made it clear that it does not encourage disruptions in the content production process. It termed any position contrary to this principle as unethical, as it harms the collective interests of the entire film fraternity. The organization asserted its commitment to protecting the interests of the industry and ensuring that professionalism remains a priority. This official stand is expected to trigger a much-needed conversation within Bollywood regarding accountability and the importance of honoring professional commitments to ensure the smooth functioning of the film business.

Peddi Box Office: Ram Charan Starrer Sets 500 Crore Worldwide Target

BY SUNIT JANGIR

Hyderabad, June 3 - Superstar Ram Charan is all set to return to the big screen with Peddi, one of the most anticipated Telugu films of the year. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the sports action drama carries enormous expectations, not just because of its scale and star power, but also because of the box-office target it reportedly needs to meet. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) According to trade estimates, Peddi has a break-even target of around 500 crore worldwide gross, making it one of the riskiest and most ambitious projects in Ram Charan's career. As a result, the film cannot afford to finish below that figure if it hopes to emerge as a successful theatrical venture. Crossing the 500 crore mark would be a significant achievement for the actor. It would become Ram Charan's second film after RRR to enter the prestigious club. More importantly, it would be the first solo-led film of his career to reach the milestone, as RRR was a multi-starrer featuring Jr. NTR alongside him. The Path To 500 Crore Worldwide Is Anything But Easy (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) While the makers are confident about the film's prospects and the promotional material has generated considerable excitement among audiences, the outcome will depend on audience reception after release. Strong word-of-mouth, repeat viewership, and sustained collections beyond the opening weekend will be crucial if Peddi is to achieve its ambitious target. The pressure on Ram Charan is also considerably higher than usual due to the performance of his recent films. His last release, Game Changer, was expected to be a major blockbuster and capitalise on the goodwill generated by RRR. Instead, the film failed to meet expectations and ultimately became a box-office disaster. Before that, Acharya, which featured megastar Chiranjeevi in the lead role with Ram Charan playing an extended role, also underperformed at the box office despite carrying significant hype before release. The back-to-back setbacks have increased expectations surrounding Peddi, with trade observers viewing it as a crucial film for the actor's box office standing. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Fortunately for the makers, the film has several factors working in its favour. Ram Charan continues to enjoy massive popularity across domestic and overseas markets following the global success of RRR. The film's rural sports backdrop, large-scale production values, and music by A. R. Rahman have also helped generate strong pre-release buzz. Nevertheless, buzz alone will not guarantee success. The film must convert anticipation into sustained ticket sales if it wants to justify its massive theatrical valuation. With a reported ₹500 crore worldwide target against the budget of 350 crores, Peddi faces one of the toughest box office challenges of any Indian film this year. For Ram Charan, the stakes could not be higher. A successful run would not only give him his first solo 500 crore grosser but also provide the blockbuster comeback he has been seeking since Game Changer. Failure, on the other hand, would raise fresh questions about the commercial viability of big-budget star vehicles in the post-RRR era. The film is scheduled to release on June 4.

Who Will Be Next Dhurandhar 2? Five Films That May Break Box Office Records of Aditya Dhar's Spy Actioner

BY SUNIT JANGIR

Mumbai, June 2 - Bollywood star Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has set a benchmark that seemed unimaginable when the film was announced. The spy-action blockbuster shattered numerous domestic and worldwide box office records, emerging as one of the biggest Indian films of all time with over 1800 crores worldwide. Dhurandhar 2 is the highest-grossing Indian film worldwide (without China), and it took almost 10 years for a film to break Baahubali 2's record. However, with several mega-budget spectacles lined up over the next couple of years, it is believed that the reign of Dhurandhar 2 could eventually be challenged. Here are five films that have the potential to surpass Dhurandhar 2's historic box office achievements. 1. Ramayana Part 1 (Diwali 2026) (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) There is perhaps no Indian film carrying more anticipation than Ramayana Part 1. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and featuring an ensemble cast led by Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, the film aims to bring one of India's most revered epics to the big screen on an unprecedented scale. The story of Lord Ram has a universal appeal across generations and regions. Combined with cutting-edge visual effects and a massive production budget, Ramayana Part 1 has all the ingredients needed to become a global phenomenon. 2. Varanasi (April 2027) (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Among all upcoming films, Varanasi may be the biggest wildcard. Directed by S. S. Rajamouli and starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra, the film is reportedly being mounted on a scale rarely seen in Indian cinema. The Rajamouli factor alone makes Varanasi a serious contender. The filmmaker has consistently expanded the box office ceiling with films like Baahubali and RRR. Combined with the cast's worldwide appeal and an ambitious, globe-trotting adventure narrative rooted in Indian mythology, Varanasi is being positioned as a global cinematic event rather than a regular commercial release. 3. Raaka (TBA 2027) (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Among the newer contenders, sci-fi actioner Raaka has quickly established itself as one of the biggest upcoming projects. Directed by Atlee and headlined by Allu Arjun, the film is being mounted as a large-scale sci-fi action entertainer with futuristic world-building and extensive visual effects. The film benefits from a dream combination of Atlee's commercial filmmaking expertise and Allu Arjun's massive popularity following the success of the Pushpa franchise. Unlike most Indian blockbusters, Raaka is exploring the relatively untapped sci-fi genre, which gives it a fresh identity in the marketplace. 4. Ramayana Part 2 (Diwali 2027) If Ramayana Part 1 becomes a blockbuster as expected, the second part could operate on an entirely different level. Historically, successful films often witness massive growth with their follow-up instalments. The climactic portions of the Ramayana, including the battle between Lord Ram and Ravana, are among the most celebrated stories in Indian epic. This gives Ramayana Part 2 the potential to become one of the biggest cinematic events in Indian history and possibly surpass every existing box office benchmark. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) 5. Kalki Part 2 (TBA 2027/2028) Following the 1000+ crores success, the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD has been one of the most-awaited films with the first film leaving fans on the edge. With Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan set to return, with Sai Pallavi replacing Deepika Padukone, Kalki Part 2 could benefit from both franchise goodwill and heightened audience curiosity. If the sequel successfully expands the scale and emotional stakes, it has the potential to become a worldwide box office juggernaut. Can These Films Really Surpass Dhurandhar 2? Breaking the records of Dhurandhar 2 will not be easy. The film benefited from exceptional word-of-mouth, repeat viewership, strong overseas performance, and massive pan-India appeal. However, Ramayana Part 1, Ramayana Part 2, Kalki Part 2, Varanasi, and Raaka represent a new generation of event cinema designed specifically for the theatrical experience. Each of these films possesses the scale, star power, and anticipation required to generate historic numbers. If exucation is right, then sky is the limit for these titles at the box office.

The latest action entertainer Blast is making quite some noise at the box office, and the credit largely goes to the lead stars and the execution by the director. Ever since the film hit the screens, the audience reactions have been overwhelmingly positive, with fans particularly praising the high-octane sequences and the engaging screenplay. This strong word-of-mouth is clearly reflecting in the numbers, as the movie is showing incredible stability on weekdays, a sign that it has truly connected with the masses. When we look at the theatrical performance, On its sixth day, which was its first Tuesday, Blast managed to collect a gross of nearly 3.96 Crore across India. What is truly impressive is the hold; the net collection of 3.45 Crore represents a very minor drop of just about 4 percent compared to Monday. Usually, films see a steeper decline after the opening weekend, but this movie is proving to be a steady horse in the race. This brings the total India gross to approximately 24.13 Crore within its first six days. The state-wise breakdown shows where the film is finding its strongest footing. Tamil Nadu led the charge on Tuesday with a gross of 1.85 Crore, followed by a very strong performance in Kerala, which added 1.30 Crore. The Telugu states (AP and Telangana) contributed around 0.50 Crore, while Karnataka added 0.30 Crore to the tally. These numbers suggest that the film is successfully crossing regional barriers, maintaining a solid presence across the southern belt. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Ticket sales on BookMyShow further confirm this steady interest. In the last 24 hours alone, the platform saw about 85,670 tickets sold, taking the total sales on BookMyShow to over 5.57 Lakhs. The film was screened across roughly 2,750 shows on Tuesday, maintaining a very healthy overall occupancy. In Chennai, the occupancy was particularly strong at 39 percent, with night shows peaking at 50 percent. Other regions like Hyderabad and Coimbatore also saw good footfalls, with occupancies hovering around 26 percent and 31 percent respectively. The performance in national multiplex chains has been a highlight of this theatrical run. On the global stage, Blast is quickly approaching a significant milestone. With an overseas gross of about 0.50 Crore on Day 6, the total international collection has reached 6.80 Crore. This pushes the total worldwide gross collection to approximately 30.93 Crore. For a mid-week performance, these figures are quite encouraging and suggest that the film is well on its way to becoming a profitable venture for the makers by the end of its first week.

This is actually a slight increase from Monday's collection of 0.50 Crore, representing roughly 20 percent growth. The film has also performed consistently in international markets, contributing an overseas gross of 53.75 Crore. Combining these figures, the worldwide gross collection has now climbed to 267.49 Crore. It has been a long and successful journey for the film, which has now been screened across nearly 240,000 shows since its release. The ticket sales data from BookMyShow also reflects this midweek jump. While around 8,280 tickets were booked on the seventh Monday, that number nearly doubled on Tuesday with approximately 14,860 tickets sold. This brings the cumulative ticket sales on the platform to over 33.75 Lakhs. The theater count remains respectable as well, with the film playing in 1,568 shows on its forty-seventh day. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) National multiplex chains are still playing a key role in the daily collections. On Tuesday, the three major chains recorded a combined total of over 27,000 ticket sales from around 550 shows, with an overall occupancy of 26 percent. PVR led the numbers with 12,580 tickets sold at an occupancy of 28.6 percent. INOX followed with 10,890 tickets at 25.2 percent occupancy, and Cinepolis added another 10,890 tickets with an occupancy of 21.9 percent. These figures show that urban audiences are still trickling in to watch the film in premium theaters. Regional performance also stays steady, particularly in the North. The National Capital Region (NCR) remains a stronghold, recording an overall occupancy of 25.5 percent across 238 shows. The evening and afternoon screenings in this region were particularly busy, with occupancy rates hitting 32 percent and 30 percent respectively. Ahmedabad also contributed with an occupancy of around 11.5 percent. As Bhooth Bangla continues to inch closer to the end of its seventh week, its ability to maintain these margins is keeping it relevant in the box office charts.
