Pushpa: The Rule - Part 2 Pushpa 2: The Rule picks up from where the first part left off, with Pushpa Raj (Allu Arjun) rising from a small-time red sandalwood smuggler to becoming the undisputed kingpin of the trade. His power and daring attitude make him unstoppable, but it also fuels bigger rivalries. As Pushpa consolidates his empire, he faces mounting challenges not only from the police and political forces but also from his brutal new adversaries who want to snatch his throne. The film explores Pushpa's transformation into a feared don while showing how he continues to win loyalty through both fear and respect. At the heart of the story lies the intense face-off between Pushpa and the relentless cop Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat (Fahadh Faasil). Their cat-and-mouse battle escalates into a full-blown war, with Pushpa forced to prove that he is not just a man but a rule that no one can break. Amid betrayals, high-stakes power struggles, and emotional drama surrounding his family and love life with Srivalli (Rashmika Mandanna), Pushpa 2 promises to be a tale of dominance, revenge, and survival where only the strongest will prevail.

Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule Opens Low At Japan Box Office

Hyderabad, January 18 - Icon Star Allu Arjun's all-time blockbuster Pushpa 2: The Rule has taken a surprisingly slow start at the Japanese box office. The Sukumar-directed action drama, which released in Japan on January 16, failed to generate strong opening-day traction, despite extensive promotions and the actor's presence in Tokyo ahead of release. As per early box office tracking, Pushpa 2 recorded only 886 admissions, a modest number on its first day, significantly lower than expectations for a film of its scale. In contrast, films like RRR (8,230 admissions), Saaho (6,510), and Kalki 2898 AD (3,700) recorded 1,000+ footfalls on their opening day in Japan. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The opening was not enough for Pushpa 2 to enter the list of top-performing Indian films in Japan in terms of footfalls, indicating limited initial reach among local audiences. The muted response comes as a surprise, especially considering the strong promotional push and the growing curiosity for Indian cinema in Japan following the success of titles like RRR. While Pushpa 2 boasts high-octane action, mass appeal, and Allu Arjun's star power, the film appears to have struggled to convert awareness into ticket sales in its opening phase. It needs to be seen if it can find audiences in the coming days, as movies can have a long run in Japan if they connect with locals. That said, the film's performance in Japan remains a small part of its overall global box office journey. Pushpa 2: The Rule has already cemented its place as one of the biggest Indian blockbusters worldwide, delivering record-breaking numbers across several markets. It grossed over 1740 crores worldwide in its original run, placing itself as the third biggest Indian grosser ever. Stay tuned...

Pushpa 2: The Rule - Japan Box Office: Allu Arjun's Global Rampage Continues; Ignites Japan with 250+ Screen Release

The Pushpa fever has officially crossed the shores of the Indian subcontinent and landed in the Land of the Rising Sun. Following its record-shattering run in India and Western markets, the Japanese dubbed version of Pushpa 2: The Rule has officially hit theaters across Japan today. With National Award winner Allu Arjun personally leading the promotional charge in Tokyo, the film is poised to become the next big Indian sensation in Japan, following in the footsteps of legendary hits like RRR and Muthu. In a move that highlights the immense importance of the Japanese market, Icon Star Allu Arjun is currently in Tokyo, engaging with massive crowds and participating in high-profile promotional activities. The buzz surrounding yesterday's premiere has translated into a massive theatrical rollout, with the film listed in over 250+ theaters across the country. Tokyo city alone has charted a significant number of shows, catering to the growing Japanese fanbase that has been eagerly awaiting the Rule of Pushpa Raj. The early numbers from Japan indicate a solid foundation for the film's journey. Reports from today's opening shows suggest that Pushpa 2 has already sold 480+ tickets for Day 1 through tracked screenings, grossing approximately ¥9,90,000 (roughly ₹5.65 Lakhs / $6,255). While these are initial figures from early shows, the widespread theater count and the Allu Arjun Factor suggest that as word of mouth spreads among the local Japanese audience, the collections are expected to see a sharp spike over the weekend. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({})   This Japanese expansion comes at a time when Pushpa 2: The Rule has already cemented its status as one of the greatest Indian blockbusters of all time. The film has been a titan at the domestic box office, consistently shattering records for Day 1 collections and weekend totals. Globally, the film has already breached the massive ₹1,000 Crore Gross milestone, making it one of the fastest Indian films to reach this mark. The Japan release is expected to provide a significant boost to its final international tally as it eyes further global records.

Dhurandhar Box Office: Ranveer Singh-Starrer Beats Pushpa 2 To Become Biggest Hindi Net Grosser

Mumbai, January 14: Ranveer Singh’s spy action thriller Dhurandhar has created history at the Indian box office by surpassing the entire Hindi theatrical run of Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule, emerging as the highest-grossing Indian film ever in a single language. Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar crossed Pushpa 2's massive 812 crore net mark in 41 days, driven by extraordinary consistency and sustained audience interest. The film has been setting daily box office benchmarks since its second week and continues to dominate the charts with record-breaking collections. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The Ranveer Singh-led blockbuster had already sealed its place as the biggest Hindi grosser worldwide, and it has now gone a step further by dethroning a pan-India juggernaut. What makes the achievement even more remarkable is the film's adult certification, yet it remains the top choice for moviegoers even in its sixth week, an exceptional feat in today's theatrical landscape. At the worldwide box office, Dhurandhar is marching towards the 1300 crore gross milestone. The film has collected around 1265 crore gross in 41 days, including a stellar 290+ crore overseas haul, and is on track to finish around 300 crore internationally, placing it among the biggest Indian overseas performers of all time. Overall, Dhurandhar is the fourth highest-grossing Indian film globally, behind Dangal (2070 crore), Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (1790 crore), and Pushpa 2: The Rule (1742 crore). Notably, Dangal's historic total includes over 1300 crore from China, a market that remains an exception rather than the norm for Indian cinema. Stay tuned...

This monumental figure cements its position as the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024 and the third-highest-grossing film of all time in the Indian market. The film's performance within India has been nothing short of a revolution, specifically in the North markets. While it is a Telugu original, the Hindi-dubbed version emerged as the primary engine of its success. The Hindi version alone has collected a massive ₹812.14 Crore Net, significantly outpacing the original Telugu version's ₹341.48 Crore Net. This dominance highlights Allu Arjun's unprecedented pan-India appeal and the growing appetite for Mass entertainers in the Hindi belt. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({})   The film's sustainability has been remarkable, maintaining a strong grip on theaters for over two months. This journey began with an explosive start on the global stage, where it raked in ₹66.00 Cr from overseas markets on Day 1 alone, topping the list of the highest opening day overseas grossers for any Indian film in 2024.After a record-shattering Week 1 collection of ₹725.8 Cr, the film continued to pull audiences, recording ₹264.8 Cr in Week 2 and ₹129.5 Cr in Week 3. Dhurandhar Box Office: Ranveer Singh Starrer Challenges Stree 2 for #1 Spot; Beats Jawan and Uri in Just 3 Days of 6th Week

Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar continues to be an unstoppable force at the Hindi box office. As it enters its sixth week, the film is demonstrating unprecedented theatrical stamina. While the 6th week is still in progress, the collections from the first three days alone have sent shockwaves through the industry, placing the film among the top three highest 6th-week grossers of all time already. The true scale of Dhurandhar's success is visible when comparing its 6th weekend (3 days) to the full 6th-week (7 days) totals of other legendary hits. In just Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Dhurandhar has collected a massive ₹15.4 Crores. With this 3-day total, it has already comfortably surpassed the full-week collections of Uri: The Surgical Strike (₹11.59 Cr), Jawan (₹10.59 Cr), and Pushpa 2 (₹7.96 Cr). Currently, it stands at Rank #3, trailing only behind Stree 2 and Chhaava. Dhurandhar 6th Weekend Breakdown: 6th Friday (Day 36): ₹3.5 Cr 6th Saturday (Day 37): ₹5.75 Cr (64% jump) 6th Sunday (Day 38): ₹6.15 Cr Total (3 Days): ₹15.40 Cr With four days (Monday to Thursday) still remaining in its 6th week, Dhurandhar is mathematically positioned to take the #1 spot. It currently needs only ₹0.16 Cr to overtake Chhaava for the #2 spot and roughly ₹3.21 Cr to surpass Stree 2's all-time record of ₹18.60 Cr. Given the current trend and strong occupancy, it is widely expected that by the end of its 42nd day, Dhurandhar will emerge as the new all-time record holder for the highest 6th week in Hindi cinema history. Pushpa 3 Plans Dropped? Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule First Anniversary Post Hints At Goodbye To The Franchise

Hyderabad, December 5 - Superstar Allu Arjun sparked speculations about the future of his mega blockbuster Pushpa franchise after sharing an emotional anniversary post marking one year of Pushpa 2: The Rule. While fans were still hoping for some update on Pushpa 3, the actor instead penned a reflective message that sounded more like a heartfelt farewell than a continuation of the action drama franchise. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Allu Arjun's words have left many wondering whether the Pushpa franchise has quietly come to an end despite earlier confirmations from the team, especially from director Sukumar himself, about a third instalment. In his post on X, the actor wrote, "PUSHPA has been an unforgettable five-year journey in our lives," before expressing deep gratitude to audiences for the "immense love, strength, and courage" they gave the team. AA then went on to thank his co-stars, technicians, producers, distributors, and director Sukumar, referring to the entire experience in a tone fans felt was unusually conclusive. The actor concluded the post with, "With a heart full of gratitude once again... THANK YOU," without any mention of the franchise's plans. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Over the year or so, both Sukumar and the producers have hinted at a trilogy, and Pushpa 3: The Rampage was widely believed to be in development. However, Allu Arjun's anniversary note did not offer a single hint or assurance about the franchise's next chapter. Instead, the post has been interpreted by many as suggesting that the team may have wrapped up the saga with Pushpa 2, or at the very least, that the future of the third part remains uncertain. While the makers in previous interviews indicated that Pushpa would continue, the tone of Allu Arjun's message has hinted but confirmed that he has moved on from the epic journey, which kicked off in 2021. Until the official confirmation, the speculations will continue to swirl around whether Pushpa Raj's journey has reached its unexpected end — or whether Pushpa 3 is still silently in the works. Can Prabhas' Baahubali: The Epic Make Baahubali 2 To Reclaim Indian Box Office Crown?

Hyderabad, October 30 - Maverick filmmaker SS Rajamouli and Pan India superstar Prabhas' action drama Baahubali: The Conclusion ruled the Indian box office for nearly eight years as the country's highest-grossing film, before that reign came to an end when Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule took over the top position following its phenomenal success in December last year. There is currently a difference of around 50 crores between the two films in favour of Pushpa 2. But the tables may yet turn with the upcoming re-release of the Baahubali duology, now presented as Baahubali: The Epic. This special cut will bring together both films — Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion — into a single, nearly 3-hour-45-minute cinematic experience. The advance booking of Baahubali: The Epic is robust, better than all the films which have been re-released at the Indian box office so far. To earn over 50 crores gross for the film shouldn't be a big ask, but it has to double it up to make Baahubali 2 reclaim its top spot. Baahubali: The Epic poses a unique case for box office accounting, as it includes both parts in one continuous feature, so the total earnings of its can't be attributed to just Baahubali 2. Since this is a one-of-a-kind case, what can be done is to split the collection of Baahubali: The Epic in half and add to both parts. If done so, the re-release will need to gross over 100 crores at the Indian box office to bridge the 50+ crores gap between Baahubali 2 and Pushpa 2. For the record, no film has ever grossed more than 50 crores in its re-release run at the Indian box office, so it needs to be seen how Baahubali: The Epic fares, even though it is certain to become the biggest Indian re-release grosser of all time. Whether it can also help Baahubali 2 reclaim its long-held crown remains to be seen, but one thing is certain — this epic is about to make history again. Stay tuned...

Top 10 Biggest South Indian Opening Day Grossers At The Hindi Box Office: Pushpa 2 Rules As Kantara Chapter 1 Takes 8th Spot

Mumbai, October 3 - South Indian cinema continues to make a mark at the Hindi box office, and the latest to enter the race is Rishab Shetty's Kantara Chapter 1, which has taken a good start in the dubbed version, scoring 18.50 crore opening day. Among the top 10 biggest South Indian openers at the Hindi box office, Kantara 2 has secured the 8th spot. At the very top of the list is Allu Arjun's Pan India phenomenon, Pushpa 2: The Rule, which rewrote box office history with a mammoth 70 crore opening day in Hindi, which is a record. This number is far ahead of every other South release and firmly establishes Pushpa 2 as a true pan-India monster. Kannada superstar Yash's KGF Chapter 2 follows next with 54 crore net opening, a record that held strong until Pushpa 2 arrived. SS Rajamouli's epic blockbuster Baahubali 2: The Conclusion sits at number 3 with 41 crores net. It is worth noting that it was the Baahubali franchise, which originally opened the floodgates for South dominance in Hindi belts. Prabhas, easily the biggest South Indian star in the Hindi market, makes multiple entries in the top 10, with Saaho making it to the top 5, followed by his Kalki 2898 AD. Rajamouli's RRR, along with superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's sci-fi extravaganza 2.0, also entered the list with solid openings. Breaking into this power-packed list at No. 8, Kantara Chapter 1, which is the second Kannada movie in this coveted list. Unlike mass-heavy commercial entertainers like KGF or Pushpa, Kantara thrives on its unique storytelling, cultural rootedness, and mysticism, yet still managed to draw audiences in large numbers on day one. Prabhas' Salaar Part 1 - Ceasefire, followed by Ram Charan's Game Changer, and Jr. NTR's Devara Part 1, take the remaining spots in the list. The last two are the only films with less than 10 crores net openings in the list in the Hindi version. Top Films With 100 Crore Openings At The Indian Box Office: Prabhas Dominates With Five Films

Hyderabad, September 26 - The Indian box office has seen several historic milestones over the last few years, but only a few films have managed to cross the coveted 100 crore mark on the first day in the domestic market. Dominated by Telugu origin films, the elite club is reserved for the biggest spectacles that not only ride on star power but also on unprecedented hype, massive release scales, and pan-India appeal. At the very top of the list is Pan India superstar Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule, which stormed into cinemas with an earth-shattering 209 crore opening in India — the biggest single-day haul ever recorded in the country. Close on its heels are director SS Rajamouli's blockbusters RRR and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which grossed 156 crore and 153 crore respectively, setting benchmarks that seemed unbeatable at the time. Yash's KGF Chapter 2 followed with 134.50 crore, while Prabhas made his mark again with Kalki 2898 AD at 116 crore, Salaar at 107.10 crore, Saaho at 105 crore and Adipurush at 102.50 crore gross. The latest film in this prestigious club is Pawan Kalyan's They Call Him OG, which is estimated to gross over 100 crores in India. What's remarkable is that, except for one film, every single one of these 100 crore openers comes from South Indian cinema. The Telugu industry, in particular, has redefined the meaning of a "mass opening" in Indian cinema. Backed by visionary filmmakers like Rajamouli, Sukumar, Nag Ashwin, and Prashanth Neel, and powered by stars such as Allu Arjun, Prabhas, Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and Yash, these films have created a cultural and commercial wave that Bollywood has yet to match. Today, breaching the 100 crore mark on opening day in India has become the ultimate benchmark for any big-ticket release. With upcoming projects from the same powerhouses — be it sequels, mythological spectacles, or high-octane action dramas — the club is only expected to expand further. As Indian cinema continues to scale new heights, these films remain towering examples of how a perfect mix of scale, vision, and star power can turn a release into a nationwide festival. Highest-Grossing (500 Crore) South Indian Films At The Worldwide Box Office: Rajinikanth's Coolie Joins Elite List at No. 11

Chennai, August 29 - Superstar Rajinikanth led his gangster action drama Coolie crawl past the 500 crores mark at the worldwide box office, making it only the 4th Tamil film ever to achieve the milestone. The movie had to battle its way to reach the coveted box office mark, despite the record start. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie joins Rajinikanth's own blockbusters - 2 Point 0 and Jailer, along with Thalapathy Vijay's Leo - to emerge as the 4th Tamil title to make its way into the 500 crores club globally. 2 Point 0 remains the biggest grosser with around 700 crores, as Coolie set to finish at 4, behind Jailer (605 crores), and Leo (606 crores). While Coolie brings in the lures for Tamil cinema, it also expands the South Indian cinema's 500 crores club grossers list to 11. This has been dominated by the Telugu film industry with 6 titles in the list, while Kannada has one in the form of Yash-fronted KGF: Chapter 2. SS Rajamouli's groundbreaking blockbuster, Baahubali 2 (2017), remains the biggest South Indian grosser at the worldwide box office with close to 1800 crores gross. It was also the first South Indian blockbuster to become the 1000 crores gross, while its predecessor, Baahubali - The Beginning, was the first to breach the milestone of 500 crores gross in 2015. Overall, Coolie is the 27th Indian film of all time to reach the landmark of 500 crores gross worldwide. The list is dominated by Bollywood with 16 titles, including Aamir Khan's sports drama Dangal, which is the highest-grossing Indian film ever with over 2000 crores collection.
