On the upcoming episode of AEW Rampage, which will air on Saturday, April 22 (instead of its usual Friday slot) due to TNT's coverage of the NHL Playoffs, El Hijo del Vikingo will defend his AAA Mega Championship. ## This follows a challenge issued on behalf of Dralistico by Jose the Assistant during the April 14 episode of AEW Rampage. Vikingo, who made his AEW debut on the March 22 episode of AEW Dynamite and defended his AAA Mega Championship against Komander at ROH Supercard of Honor on March 31, will put his title on the line against Dralistico in what is expected to be an exciting and highly anticipated match. ## Komander, who has also competed in AEW previously, including in the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match on the March 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, will be looking to make his mark in this title bout. It is AEW's second weekly television show, positioned behind their flagship show, Dynamite. ## AEW Rampage Results April 7, 2023 ## FTW Rules Match: Hook (c) Vs Ethan Page ## This intense matchup featured no-disqualification rules and a falls-count-anywhere stipulation. The two wrestlers immediately brawled into the crowd, unleashing their fury on each other. Hook displayed his strength early on, executing a powerful T-Bone suplex on Page, causing him to crash to the floor. ## As the match progressed, Page retaliated with a vengeance, slamming Hook through a table at ringside. However, Hook proved to be a resilient opponent, dodging Page's chair shot and countering with a Twist of Fate onto the chair for a close two-count. Page tried to regain control with a brutal pump kick, but Hook refused to back down. ## In the end, it was Hook who emerged victorious, locking Page into his signature submission hold, the Redrum (formerly known as the Tazmission), forcing Page to tap out. Hook's dominance didn't end there, as he continued his assault, T-Boning Page through a table in the corner. However, Max Caster didn't hesitate to take a jab at JAS, rapping about them being more annoying than Marjorie Taylor Greene. ## During the match, The Acclaimed showcased their impressive teamwork, executing their signature "Scissor Me Timbers" double-team move on Orlando. Caster sealed the deal with a Mic Drop, a frog splash elbow drop, securing the victory. ## But their triumph was short-lived, as JAS, alongside Jake Hager, launched a surprise attack on The Acclaimed during their post-match celebration. The ambush left The Acclaimed battered and bruised, with JAS and Hager standing tall in the ring. ## Despite the underhanded tactics employed by JAS and Hager, The Acclaimed refused to back down, ready to seek revenge and prove themselves as true contenders in the ring. ## WINNER: Jericho Appreciation Society & The Acclaimed ## Darby Allin Vs Lee Moriarty (w/ Big Bill) ## Jim Ross and Excalibur reported that Darby Allin had been hit by a car while skateboarding in New York City the day before. Despite this, he was cleared to compete in the match. The crowd in Rhode Island showed their support for Allin with a loud "DAR-BY!" chant before the match even began. ## During the match, Allin started off strong, locking in a headlock and coming close to a pin with a La Casita maneuver. The crowd erupted into another chant for Allin. However, Moriarty began to gain momentum, targeting Allin's midsection and slamming him into the barricade outside the ring. ## When the program returned from a break, Allin received yet another chant from the crowd as he made his comeback, delivering a shotgun dropkick to Moriarty in the corner. But Big Bill Morrissey appeared once again, distracting Allin and causing him to crash onto the ropes. ## Moriarty seized the opportunity and lifted Allin up for a vertical suplex, dropping him stomach-first over the top rope. He followed up with a superplex attempt, but Allin held on and countered with a small package pin for a near fall. Moriarty also tried a wrist-clutch pin but could only get a two count. Allin regained control with a Code Red on Moriarty before taking out Big Bill with a dive through the bottom rope. Allin then finished off Moriarty with a Coffin Drop for the win. ## WINNER: Darby Allin ## Singles Match: Anna Jay vs. Julia Hart ## Before Hart could finish her introduction, Jay launched an attack, and the two fierce competitors tumbled to the floor, grappling and scrapping for the first few minutes. In a sudden turn of events, Hart whipped Jay into the barricade as the match spilled back out onto the floor. With a display of raw power, Anna Jay hoisted Hart up in a power bomb, holding her upside down in mid-air before slamming her head-first into the barricade. The program then cut to commercials, leaving viewers on edge. ## During the break, Jay maintained her offensive momentum, but when the show returned, Hart had regained control of the match. The youngest wrestler in AEW, according to Jim Ross, Hart executed a running basement elbow to Jay's back, followed by a standing moonsault that earned her a close two-count. ## Jay managed to turn the tide again, almost sealing the victory with the Queenslayer sleeper hold, but was unable to apply it fully. Hart battled back, fighting Jay into the corner before placing her on the top rope, where she was hanging helplessly in the Tree of Woe position. Hart then pulled herself up to grab Jay and throw her back into the ring, before executing a beautiful moonsault press that earned another near fall. ## Jay attempted to apply the Queenslayer sleeper hold once again, but in the midst of the struggle, the two wrestlers tumbled out of the ring. As they fought for leverage, Jay rolled back into the ring, leaving Hart almost counted out. Seizing the opportunity, Hart used a dirty tactic and spit poison mist into Jay's face when the referee was not looking. Orange Cassidy attempted to come to the aid of his friends, but was assaulted by Buddy Matthews as he made his way to the ring. ## In another match, Taya Valkyrie defeated Marina Shafir, but Smart Mark Sterling made a surprising announcement that they were suing Taya, and sent someone to deliver the lawsuit. Taya responded by hitting the woman with her finishing move, the Road to Valhalla. Later in the night, Jade Cargill attempted to intervene, but was stopped by Leila Grey and Smart Mark Sterling. ## Also on the show, Juice Robinson emerged victorious over Action Andretti in a singles match. On a special Saturday edition of AEW Rampage, the TNT title will be on the line for the second week in a row. Powerhouse Hobbs will defend his title for the second time against Penta El Zero Miedo, who is seeking revenge for Rey Fenix and Alex Abrahantes after last week's Rampage. ## In her second AEW match, Taya Valkyrie will face Leila Grey. Last week, Valkyrie made her debut and confronted TBS Champion Jade Cargill. She also delivered Cargill's own Jaded move to Grey. ## Brody King will take on Jake Hager of the Jericho Appreciation Society after Daniel Garcia secured a questionable victory over King last Friday. Former AEW Tag Team Champions The Acclaimed will face off against former ROH Tag Team Champions The Kingdom. ## AEW Rampage Results March 25, 2023 ## TNT Championship: Powerhouse Hobbs (w/ the cast of QTV) vs. Penta El Zero Miedo (w/ Alex Abrahantes) ## In the opening of the match, Hobbs and Penta traded strikes, and Penta sent Hobbs to the mat with a dropkick. Penta attempted to follow up with a tope, but Hobbs halted him with a forearm. While Hobbs hurled Penta into the ringpost, Harley, the woman from QTV, recorded the match on her phone. ## Hobbs hurled Penta around the perimeter of the ring, slamming him into the barricades. Once back in the ring, Hobbs executed a Bret Hart-inspired elbow drop, but it only resulted in a two-count. Penta attempted to catch Hobbs off guard with a kick, but Hobbs caught his foot and flung him into a backbreaker. While Hobbs distracted referee Aubrey Edwards, QT Marshall surreptitiously fastened Penta's mask onto the bottom rope. However, Penta didn't remain tied up for long, as he swiftly freed himself. Hobbs followed up with a delayed vertical suplex, but Penta managed to kick out just in time. ## Penta positioned Hobbs for the Fear Factor, but Marshall climbed onto the apron with a chair to divert his attention. Solo dashed into the ring and assaulted Penta, who then neutralized him with the Fear Factor. However, Hobbs struck Penta with the TNT title belt and followed up with the Town Business to secure the pinfall. ## WINNER: Powerhouse Hobbs (w/ the cast of QTV) via pinfall ## Following the match, Hobbs and Marshall attempted to continue beating on Abrahantes, but were thwarted by the arrival of Rey Fenix, who brandished a hammer to chase them away. ## Brody King (w/ Julia Hart) vs. Jake Hager (w/ a hat that he likes) ## The match began with an intense exchange of punches, commonly known as a slugfest, while Jim Ross emphasized Hager's MMA background. The altercation eventually spilled onto the ringside floor, where both competitors aggressively hurled one another into the sturdy ring barricades. ## Following a commercial break, King executed a blackhole slam on Hager, nearly securing a pinfall victory. King then attempted a piledriver, but Hager managed to reverse it into an ankle lock. Although King was able to break free, he soon charged towards Hager with an avalanche maneuver, only for Hager to avoid King's cannonball attack. Hager then aimed for his signature move, the Hager bomb, but King countered by thrusting his feet into Hager's face. King capitalized on the opening by delivering a discus lariat, which resulted in a close two-count. ## Suddenly, Anna Jay appeared and stormed into the ring, launching a surprise attack on Julia Hart. Although King was momentarily distracted by the commotion, he managed to quickly regain his focus and hit Hager with his finishing move, the "All Seeing Eye" - a unique variation of the sit-out death valley driver - for the victory. ## WINNER: Brody King (w/ Julia Hart) ## Taya Valkyrie Vs Leila Grey (w/ Jade Cargill & Mark Sterling) ## Valkyrie wasted no time in defeating Grey by executing her finishing move, the Road to Valhalla, for the pinfall victory. ## WINNER: Taya Valkyrie ## Following the match, Sterling stepped into the ring and confronted Valkyrie with a cease and desist order. In response, Valkyrie unleashed another Road to Valhalla on Sterling, suggesting that he may be out of commission with a neck brace for the next three months. ## The Acclaimed (w/ Billy Gunn) vs. The Kingdom (w/ Maria Kanellis Bennett) Max and Mike commence the match, and the Kingdom uses rapid tags to dominate Max. Bowens unexpectedly tags in and executes a neck breaker combination on Mike for a near fall. Mike and Bowens engage in a struggle for control, and Bowens lands a clothesline for a two-count. Max enters the ring and takes a hit from the "Scissor Me Timbers" move. Taven also enters the ring but is quickly thrown out as we transition to a picture-in-picture segment. ## Upon returning to full screen, the Kingdom is shown to have taken complete control of the match and delivered a plethora of attacks on Max while the action was in picture-in-picture mode. They continue to use frequent tags and score several two-counts. Maria tries to escape Billy Gunn, who chases her up the ramp. However, Top Flight makes their entrance and takes over the match. Maria retreats further up the ramp and disappears backstage. As Bennett makes his way back to the ring, Gunn delivers a clothesline and a crotch chop in his direction. ## After receiving the hot tag, Bowens springs into action and takes down Taven. Bennett is then brought into the ring, but Bowens quickly forces him out with a flurry of chops.
