He feigns injury, then illegally pokes Garcia's eye and pounds him against the ropes. He adds a kick and forearms before hitting a neckbreaker for a two-count.## Cage applies a snap mare and elbow drop, then poses dramatically. Garcia fights back with punches. Cage throws him over the top rope and dives onto him outside the ring. Both scramble back in. Cage slaps Garcia, attempts a Killswitch, but Garcia counters and attacks his leg. He applies the STF submission, but Swerve breaks it up. Swerve and Joe trade blows, with Swerve taking a headbutt that sends him to the floor. Joe is then taken out by a combined attack from Page and Swerve.## Page and Swerve exchange punches and elbows. Swerve attempts a roll-up for a near fall. Joe sends Swerve flying out of the ring with a chop and muscle busters Page, but Swerve jumps in with a Swerve Stomp for another near fall.## Joe lands jabs on both opponents before chopping Swerve out of the ring. He connects with a Muscle Buster on Page, but Swerve dives in with a Swerve Stomp for another two-count. Joe throws jabs again, then eliminates Swerve from the ring with a chop.## Joe attempts a choke on Page, but Swerve breaks it up with a DDT and a 450 splash. He follows with a Swerve Stomp for a near fall, but Page pulls the referee out to prevent the pinfall. Page blasts Swerve with repeated blows using the championship belt.## Page hits Joe with two Buckshot Lariats, but there's no referee to make the count. A second referee runs in and counts a two-count. Joe applies a choke on Page, but Swerve breaks it up with a corkscrew kick. He refuses to use a weapon offered by Page.## Swerve attempts a roll-up, but Page attacks the referee, eliminating him as the second official. Page hits a lariat, and Joe responds with one of his own on Page. Swerve then hits Page with a Buckshot Lariat. Joe eliminates Swerve and applies a chokehold on Page, forcing him to tap out. ## WINNER: Samoa Joe ## Tornado tag team match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship: Sting and Darby Allin (c) (with Ric Flair) vs. The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson) ## Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat join ringside for the main event. Sting enters with his sons, each dressed as past iterations of him. Immediately, Darby Allin attacks The Young Bucks, and all four execute Stinger Splashes on their opponents. Sting applies a double Scorpion Deathlock, but the Bucks escape and the fight spills outside the ring.## Sting throws the Jacksons over the barricade. Meanwhile, his sons set up tables, and Allin retrieves a large ladder. He launches himself onto both Bucks with a Coffin Drop. Sting retrieves glass, placing it on chairs propped together.## He attempts to strike both men with his bat, but they evade him and flee. The champions give chase, brawling up to the stage. Allin gets driven through tables, and Matthew suplexes Sting off the stage through several tables below.## Back in the ring, the Bucks throw Allin into a ladder propped in the corner. However, Allin fights back, hitting a Stunner on Nicholas and a Code Red on Matthew. He bounces Nicholas' head repeatedly off the steps, then climbs a ladder and attempts a diving attack. Matthew moves Nicholas, and Allin crashes through glass and chairs, suffering a severe back wound. ## The Young Bucks isolate Sting, but he dodges their attack, and they inadvertently collide with each other. ## Sting climbs the ladder, but Matthew joins him and slams him through a table. Sting recovers quickly and trades blows with both Bucks, but they overpower him and throw him through more glass. Matthew lands a low blow followed by a Scorpion Death Drop, but Sting kicks out!## Nicholas attempts to steal the title from Steamboat, but Matthew attacks him with a chair. Matthew prepares to hit Sting with the title, but Flair intervenes and pleads for them to stop. The Bucks respond with a double superkick to Flair and Steamboat. Matthew then strikes Sting with the belt, but Sting kicks out again! They hit Sting with a pair of superkicks, but he remains unfazed and takes them both down.## Matthew receives a Scorpion Death Drop, but Nicholas breaks the pinfall. Sting continues fighting, but the Bucks hit the EVP Trigger. He kicks out again, then asks for more punishment before enduring another set of superkicks. The Young Bucks attempt the TK Driver, but Allin shoves Nicholas into a table. Sting applies the Scorpion Death Drop, but Matthew kicks out. The brawl spills outside, chairs and a table join the chaos. Briscoe dropkicks Matthews, then dives over the top rope with a chair-assisted attack. ## Briscoe throws Matthews back in the ring, brandishing the spike Black used. King and Black join the fray, but Briscoe unleashes a flurry of chair strikes. As he aims the spike at Black's head, a resurgent Matthews nails him with a powerful kick.## Matthews drags Briscoe up the ramp, but Briscoe counters with a backdrop and delivers a crossbody from the ramp to the floor. Briscoe grabs a pyro control device, threatening Matthews. Security intervenes, pulling the device away and tackling Briscoe as the House of Black flees.## Undeterred, Briscoe reclaims the device and sets off the pyro repeatedly, a fiery warning to his escaping adversaries.## A backstage promo shows Swerve Strickland, addressing the events of "Dynamite." Admitting his lapse in vigilance, he vows never to underestimate "Hangman" Adam Page again. Page won't surprise him at Revolution, and Strickland declares his intent to become the first African-American AEW World Champion.## Penta El Zero Miedo vs. Bryan Keith vs. Dante Martin ## The bell tolls, met with chants of "Cero Miedo!" Penta taunts Martin, then theatrically removes his glove to do the same to Keith. But before he can, Keith headbutts him. Martin drops Keith with a superkick, then Penta charges back but gets hit by a double superkick. Penta retreats outside, leaving Martin and Keith to engage in a high-flying exchange.## Penta re-enters, delivering kicks to Martin followed by a backstabber. He rebounds off the ropes, but Keith counters with a kick and exploder suplex. Penta stumbles for the ropes, but Keith drags him back. They trade strikes - kicks, chops, forearms - until Martin dives off the top with a double crossbody. He then dives onto Keith outside, then back into the ring to dive onto Penta. Martin dominates as we go to commercial.## We return to all three men trading chops. Keith superkicks Penta, then both men superkick Martin. Keith counters Penta's finisher, then tries a blockbuster from the corner but is countered. Martin re-enters, but Penta hits him with a Canadian Destroyer for a near fall. Everyone struggles to rise.## Penta throws leg kicks at Keith, then springboards off the ropes. However, Keith prevails in their counter exchange, headbutting Penta off the top rope to the floor. Martin rolls up Keith for two. After further exchanges, Keith hits a butterfly powerbomb for another near fall. He charges at Penta on the apron, but Penta drags him out too. They trade brutal chops. Keith attempts a fireman's carry, but Penta escapes. Penta executes a Fear Factor on Keith, on the apron! Martin intervenes with a Destroyer on Penta, also on the apron. ## Martin ascends the top turnbuckle and delivers a decisive splash on Keith for the victory. ## WINNER: Dante Martin ## Mariah May vs. Angelica Risk ## May opens the match with gut kicks, driving Risk into the corner. She taunts with a lick of her hands and a double-handed chest slap. May traps Risk in the ropes, stretching her, then delivers a dropkick after breaking free. An Irish Whip followed by a spinning sidewalk slam with multiple rotations further May's dominance. She blows a kiss to the commentator, Nigel, who reacts dramatically. May then grinds her boot against Risk's throat and delivers a shotgun dropkick in the center of the ring.## Risk briefly rallies with a few strikes, but May quickly overpowers her with a powerful kick to the face. A fireman's carry into her finisher, the Mayday, secures the victory for May. ## WINNER: Mariah May ## Storm enters, met with May's enthusiasm. It is AEW's second weekly television show, positioned behind their flagship show, Dynamite.## AEW Rampage Results February 16, 2024 ##' Sammy Guevara vs. Jeff Hardy (w/ Matt Hardy) in a no-disqualification match ## Jeff Hardy's neon arm sleeves and Sammy Guevara's kaleidoscope gear nearly overloaded my poor TV as they tore into each other. Hardy slammed Guevara like a hammer, then dove for a ladder only to get it dropkicked right into his chest! Talk about hero worship gone wrong - Hardy was Guevara's idol, remember?## Guevara retaliated with a superkick and a ring apron stunner, dragging Hardy back into the ring for a near miss. The fight spilled outside, Hardy whipping Guevara into chairs before launching a devastating dropkick. Back inside, Hardy tossed a chair at Guevara like a Frisbee - not exactly gentlemanly behavior!## Both men ascended the ladder, trading blows high above the ring. Hardy managed a Twist of Fate off the ladder onto Guevara, but it only got a two-count. During a commercial break, Hardy snuck another ladder under the ring while his brother Matt prepped a table.## Things got real nasty. Jeff laid Guevara out on the table and took off his shirt with theatrical flair before climbing the ladder at a snail's pace. Guevara saw his chance, pulled him down, and regained control of the match.## One of the most ridiculous spots I've ever seen involved Guevara using an open chair like a medieval torture device on Hardy's head before hitting a senton bomb off the ladder through the table. The crowd chanted "This is awesome!", but I wasn't buying it.## Back in the ring, Guevara attempted a shooting star press, but Hardy countered with his knees up. Unfortunately, that did little good as Guevara's knees connected squarely with Hardy's face. The commentary team's insistence that Hardy countered was baffling, considering the replay showed otherwise. Guevara finished the match with his GTH finisher, securing the victory. ## WINNER: Sammy Guevara ## After the match, Hardy and Guevara brawled, but for me, it lacked the flow and originality I crave. It felt like a retread of past matches, punctuated by excessive brutality (judging by the crimson aftermath).## After the bloodbath, Callis' interference added another layer of confusion. Was it a justified attack or gratuitous violence? The lines are blurring.## Moving on, Cage's "real wrestler" jab at Hook and Private Party's self-proclaimed top 5 ranking offered some amusing moments. But then came the head-scratcher: Moxley and Claudio claiming telepathic powers to target FTR. Is it serious intent, playful banter, or just plain weird? ## Finally, Ruby's interview got derailed by Saraya and Harley, leaving Ruby yearning for peace. It is AEW's second weekly television show, positioned behind their flagship show, Dynamite. ## AEW Rampage Results February 9, 2024 ## Undisputed Kingdom (Roderick Strong, Mike Bennett & Matt Taven) (w/ Adam Cole and Wardlow) vs Best Friends (Orange Cassidy, Trent Beretta & Rocky Romero) ## In tonight's build-up, Strong avoided facing Cassidy early on, with tension brewing between Cassidy and Beretta. The match itself showcased an entertaining offensive sequence from all six men before the first ad break. Strong sealed the victory with a running knee and his End of Heartache on Romero, catching Taven off guard for the pin. Surprisingly, Cassidy wasn't involved in the finish. ## WINNER: Undisputed Kingdom (Roderick Strong, Mike Bennett & Matt Taven) (w/ Adam Cole and Wardlow) ## Post-match, Strong delivered another punishing End of Heartache on Romero, this time onto two chairs, before the heels retreated. Cassidy is set to defend his International title against Tomohiro Ishii on Saturday's Collision. ## The Young Bucks vs Mondo Rox & Robbie Lit ## AEW surprised many by having the Bucks' first match since Full Gear on Rampage, not even mentioned on Dynamite. The match was a squash with the Bucks showcasing their heel tactics, including a low blow behind the referee's back. They won with the EVP trigger and delivered a promo demanding respect and recognition by their real names. ## WINNER: The Young Bucks ## Singles Match: Mistico vs. Matt Sydal ## Mistico and Sydal faced off in a TV match, with Mistico emerging victorious after hitting a spectacular Spanish fly off the top rope. Despite being a heel, Mistico played up to the fans throughout the bout. ## This wasn't their first encounter; they previously battled in WWE as Sin Cara and Evan Bourne on Raw in 2011. Despite lacking support from Christopher Daniels and others, Sydal fought valiantly but ultimately fell short. ## WINNER: Mistico (w/ Star Jr. & Esfinge) ## Willow Nightingale & Kris Statlander vs. Saraya & Ruby Soho ## Hathaway replaced Menard on commentary. Soho's suspicious behavior hinted at something significant. The match, although repetitive, highlighted the need for a Women's Tag Team Championship in AEW. ## Soho's betrayal of The Outcasts, followed by Nightingale's win over Saraya, was the main storyline. Hathaway showed support for the winners.
