After many complaints and objections received from the concerned citizens, the Ministry of Defence has taken a big step against the movies and web series that air military content. From now on, any kind of content on the military will have to obtain a no-objection certificate (NOC) or clearance from the Ministry of Defence. ## The Ministry of Defence has written a letter to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (Ministry of I&B) to advise production houses to obtain NOC from them before telecasting any film/documentary/web series on army theme in the public domain. The letter was sent by the Ministry of Defence on July 27. ## "In some of the web series like 'Code M' on Zee 5 and 'XXX Uncensored (season-2)' on ALT Balaji, the scenes related to the Army are far from reality and present a distorted image of the Armed Forces," said a senior government official as reported by News 18. ## The step to make obtaining NOC mandatory has been taken after much deliberation. Sources further pointed out that this has been done "to curtail the incidents which distort the image of the defence forces and hurt the sentiments of the defence personnel and veterans", reported News 18.## The military has been very particular about its image and the content projected in different web series or documentaries or movies. Bollywood films on the military go through a mandatory clearance process. However, with increased OTT platforms, the military feels that it needs to moderate any possible alleged negative depiction of the uniform.## Stay tuned...

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar had announced in March 2019 that he will mark his digital debut with Amazon Prime Video web series 'The End'. He announced this action series in a special event where he set himself fire to give a sneak peek about the series. ## The series was going to begin in December this year but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Akshay Kumar's other commitments, the series will now be on floors in the mid of the year 2021. According to reports, Akshay will finish his pending work before begin shooting for his digital debut series.## Talking to a leading daily, producer Vikram Malhotra said, "The show was to roll in December tentatively, with Akshay joining us in January 2021. But, it has been four months (into the lockdown), and it will be a few more months before normalcy is restored. Akshay, too, has other commitments. So, we are hoping to get into production by the second half of 2021."## He also stated that 'The End' is not a project that can be tweaked and start rolling next month as other projects and films are doing currently. In the line-up of movies releasing on the digital platform, Tigmanshu Dhulia directed Yaara premiered on ZEE5 on July 30. Recently in an interview, filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar confirmed that he is planning to make a superhero film series that will begin with Katrina Kaif's film. Now, the movie with Katrina Kaif said to be a two-part film that will directly premiere on Netflix as a Netflix Original Film to which the streaming platform has sanctioned Rs 80 to 85 crore to the director for the first part of the movie. ## A leading portal revealed that Ali Abbas Zafar was keen to make the film for the big screen but lack of funds forced him to go for the OTT platform.## "It's a massive film mounted on a never seen before scale for a female protagonist. Ali was very keen on making it as a feature film for the big screen, but he wasn’t able to raise the funds that were needed, following which he decided to go the OTT way. The filmmaker is of the belief that his next will be a game-changer of sorts for the genre and will pave way for many more women-centric action films in Bollywood".## The portal further revealed that "This would be the biggest budgeted film in the history of Bollywood led by women".## Adding further that there will be never seen before action in the movie and Katrina Kaif is also training at home and living no stone unturned to pull off stunts.## "It's solely Ali's vision and passion for the film that has got him a mega-deal with Netflix. Any other director would have shelved the film, but he is keen on making Katrina the first female superhero of India. The script calls for some outstanding special effects and Netflix is also excited to be a part of a revolution in Bollywood".## "The budget of part two will be decided based on how part one of the superhero film fares. The Urvashi Rautela starrer Virgin Bhanupriya which is all set to premiere on the OTT platform ZEE5 on July 16, is inspired by the director of the film Ajay Lohan's real-life experience, claimed Gautam Gulati who plays the male lead in the comedy-drama. ## "Virgin Bhanupriya is a story inspired by personal experience and friends of our director Ajay. Nawazuddin Siddiqui who was hailed for his role in the series and acquired a new level of fame says that there is nothing left in Vikram Chandra's novel that can be put in Season 3.## Speaking to a leading portal, Nawazuddin Siddiqui said, "Sacred Games got the kind of worldwide acclaim that none of us associated with the series had seen before. I remember shooting in Rome for Tannishta Chatterjee’s film and over there too there were so many people talking to me about Sacred Games. So we all felt it was right to do it again, and we did a second season".## Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap, Nawazuddin Siddiqui admits that the second season was a disappointment as the intentions behind it were not sincere. "Perhaps, somewhere the intention behind Season 2 was not as sincere as the first time. I admit Sacred Games 2 was a disappointment", he said. ## As for season 3, the actor said, "Whatever had to be said from the original novel has already been said.
