Joint Entrance Examination – Main (JEE-Main), formerly All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), is an examination organised by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in India. ## Introduced in the year 2002 and renamed in April 2017, this national level competitive test is for admission to various undergraduate engineering and architecture courses in institutes accepting the JEE-Main score, mainly National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs). ## Until 2018, JEE-Main was on the first week of April by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It was held both on paper and electronically. From 2019 it is conducted by the NTA, twice a year, and online only. ## Exam Name: JEE-MAIN ## Expected Result Date: To be decide on Monday (April 22, 2019) ## Total Appeared Students: Around 9 Lakh ## Students can check their result on below website:- ## jeemain.nic.in ## Exam Structure: ## The examination consists of only two papers: Paper 1 for B.E./BTech courses and Paper 2 for BArch courses. ## A candidate can opt for any or both the papers. Paper 1 is mandatorily a computer based test (called Online mode) from 2019. Till 2018, there was an option between OMR based and computer based mode. ## Paper 1 has three subject sections: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Each one of the 3 subject sections consists of 30 questions each with equal weightage for every question. All questions are multiple choice objective-type questions each of which has four choices. Out of the four choices for a given question, only one choice is correct. Every correct answer will receive 4 marks each and every incorrectly attempted question will receive a negative marking of -1 mark. There is no negative marking applied if the question is left unanswered. ## Paper 2 has three sections: Mathematics, Drawing, and Aptitude. Mathematics, and Aptitude sections have multiple choice objective-type questions and the Drawing section has drawing-based questions. ## The duration of each paper is three hours. Candidates are not allowed to carry any textual material, calculators, logarithmic tables or electronic devices into the examination hall. The number of questions and their maximum marks have been variable through the years. The questions are based on a syllabus that is common to syllabi of all the state boards in India and the Central Board of Secondary Education. Candidates can opt for question papers either in English or in Hindi language. ## For admission to BTech or B.E. courses in the participating institutes the candidate is required to take the Paper 1; for admission to BArch or B. Planning courses the candidate is required to take Paper 2. The examination was conducted in offline pen and paper mode till 2010. In 2011, as per the orders of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, CBSE conducted Paper 1 in Computer-Based-Test mode for the first one lakh candidates who opted for the same, while the remaining students took the examination in the conventional pen and paper mode. ## The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at the examination is limited to three in consecutive years. As of 2018, the top 224,000 rankers of JEE (Main) will qualify to appear for the second and final level of examination: JEE (Advanced). ## In 2010 the Ministry of Human Resource Development announced plans to replace JEE by 2013 with a common entrance test for all government engineering colleges which will be called Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test (ISEET). ## Accordingly, MHRD proposes to set up National Testing Service, which will be an autonomous and self-sustained agency to conduct this new common entrance test. ## For more information about latest exam results, stay tuned to us !!

Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education is agency of Government of Himachal Pradesh entrusted with the responsibilities of prescribing courses of instructions and text books and conducting examinations for secondary school students in Himachal Pradesh . ## It was set up in 1969 and has its headquarters in Dharmshala. ## Kultar chand Rana from Kangra was the first chairman. At present more than 8000 schools are affiliated with the Board. The Board sets up 1650 examination centres for over 500,000 examinees every year. ## Dr. Harish Gajju (HAS) is the current Secretary of the HPBOSE appointment by the Government of Himachal Pradesh. Sh. Rajiv Shankar (IAS) is the current Chairman of the board. ## The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, Dharamshala came into existence in 1969 as per Himachal Pradesh Act No. 14 of 1968 with its headquarter at Shimla later shifted to Dharamshala in January 1983. ## The Board started with a staff of 34 officials which has subsequently increased to 438. The Education Board prescribes syllabus, courses of instructions and text books for school education in Himachal Pradesh besides conducting examinations based on courses listed. ## At present, the Board conducts examination for the following classes and courses: 8th (Private Capacity), 10th, 10+1, 10+2, J.B.T and T.T.C. As many as 5 Lakh candidates annually appear in the examination conducted by the Board. ## Presently more than 8000 schools are affiliated with the Board. The Board has set up 1650 Examination centres throughout the state. ## Board also publishes text books for class 1st to 12th.
